6 year old me is sqealing in joy right now!

Update: So, I got around to purchasing some new filters, a stockpile of belts, a replacement extension wand, and even a new hood. I only did the ladder since you can't buy the little hose trap-door part separately, and this one was in better condition anyways. There was some rust on the motor...

    Kirby Accessories are kinda weird

This is just kind of an opinion piece, but I thought I'd share my thoughts on certain Kirby Accessories. There are certain accessories and functions that Kirby pushed that are kind of weird/unfitting for a household vacuum cleaner. 1. The Turbo Accessory kit. It seems like a neat machine, but...

    Final year-vac store clean out

Rugsucker What condition are they in exactly, and if you were to sell and ship them, how much would it be for?

Homemade Kirby Shampoo mix I remember using.

Human I wouldn't recommend testing it on somebody else's carpet, in case it damages it. I just used it to shampoo my room, and not much outside of that.

    What does this year hold?

What does this year hold for you? I dunno.

    Final year-vac store clean out

Would you happen to have any more of those Commercial Hoovers left? If so, which ones?

What do you do about vacuums you're partial about?

Human I'd love to have a barn or some other storage area to keep surplus machines, but unfortunately that's not really the case right now, at least not any that would keep them out of the elements well. In a perfect world, I'd want a decently sized collection room in the finished basement of my...

What do you do about vacuums you're partial about?

Blackheart I get that, and did that for a Eureka F&G and a M. Wards canister that were badly beaten up, and I had no interest in fixing. I took them into a vacuum shop to be recycled. I also used to have a Hoover Sprint Quick Vac that I got with the intent of giving it to my 4th grade teacher...

What do you do about vacuums you're partial about?

RainbowD4C That's kind of what I've been doing lately, only waiting for machines that I've always wanted to pop up online and then buy them. When I was younger, I'd beg my parents and grandparents to buy me just about any machine that I'd see, regardless if I actually liked them. Whether it be...

Homemade Kirby Shampoo mix I remember using.

This is just a recounting of the handful of times I used my Kirby G7 to shampoo. If you want to try the recipe, do so at your own risk of you, your Kriby, and your carpets. A few years back my dad got me a Kirby G7 for my birthday off of Craigslist. It had all of the basic accessories that I...

What do you do about vacuums you're partial about?

This is something that I've been trying to grapple with recently. Ever since I got my DD Breeze Bagless, my desire to get other Dirt Devil machines has been reignited. Some of them include the DD Power Pak, Visions, old-school Featherlites, 7200 Upright style machines, a DD Sweeper Plus, and so...

    Vacuum Store rugs.

Sorry it's been a minute since I came back to this thread. Thanks for the input in the meantime. I already kind of figured that these were made exclusively for vacuum stores, but I wasn't expecting them to be so expensive on the secondhand market. I'm not scratching at the bits for one of them...

    Vacuum Store rugs.

Lesinutah Wdym by you've seen outrageous prices? Have you seen them on Ebay? If so, what search terms, if any, did you use? Also Rugsucker, if I were to buy it (not saying I necessarily will), I'd want it vacuumed and extracted well beforehand. It also looks like it needs to be flattened...

    Vacuum Store rugs.

Rugsucker Yeah! Like those. Depends, how much would you be willing to sell it for, and is the Midwest too far? (I don't feel comfortable giving out personal information here).

    Vacuum Store rugs.

Does anybody know where I can find those rugs in vacuum stores that have vacuum logos on them? Some of the ones I've seen are ones for Hoover, Eureka, Sharp, Sebo, and others. Whenever I try looking them up, I can't find them. I really want to one or two for my rooms.

Hoover300 Yeah, I put an image of one in my reply to you. It was pretty blurry though (sorry about that, BTW).

6 year old me is sqealing in joy right now!

JustJunque You're welcome, I suppose. Though, it was a minuscule amount of help to the environment, and I pretty much only saved it because it was a machine that I really liked. If it were something like a modern Bissell, A Rainbow D4, or another machine that I either dislike or don't care much...

6 year old me is sqealing in joy right now!

PanasonicVac I know. Part of me wants to get a few other variations of this machine (i.e., a Swivel Glide model, a blur and/or yellow model, and a bagged model), but I'm pretty sure that's going to happen. At most, I'd want to get a blue bagged model, and the dark red one with the orange and...

6 year old me is sqealing in joy right now!

Hoover300 Yeah, there were a ton of variations, name changes, and feature additions to this type of machine. Some of the ones I've found are the DD Swivel Glide variants, some called the DD Swift, a rebadged Regina variet, some called the Jaguar, and some Vax variants from across the pond. It's...
