    No the suction motor has never been touched and im pretty sure the dc14 only has one motor and an clutch belt system. :-(

    To rekindle the post I tore the kirby all the way down to polish it and put it back together to find that the safety switch wouldn't engage and let the kirby with nozzle installed, turn on.     This being my first kirby,it has given me a very good first impression. I took it around the living room carpet twice (ahh the new vacuum bug :) ) and it feels as soft as when it gets scrubbed. And yes me and the guy at vacuum shop are friends, so I get some good deals from time to time.
