Hoover Building, London

Exit station and turn left, a 10 min walk up the road, and we're there! No sooner had I arrived than the sun came out - the only short moment of sun we got all day! Perhaps Mr. Colston was smiling down...

    Hoover Building, London

On Monday 25th Jan, after my day at the Miele Gallery, I had a couple of hours to kill before meeting my friend Al (vacbear58) for coffee in John Lewis on Oxford Street. So, since Perivale Station is on the same underground line as Oxford Circus, I jumped on the train and made a brief visit to...

Help wanted, very rare electrolux D710 (pic)

Oh, the 710! I used to have one of those, it belonged to my granddad. Sadly, it broke in half one day when the clear plastic which covers the motor compartment shattered (I understand they were prone to doing so), and the cord reel just fell off the back! This was long before I knew of any...

Hi Mike, have you tried searching eBay to see what other sellers are asking for similar machines?

Hi Jay - did you get your Blueprint yet? I'd love to see pictures, and hear your impressions!

    Black & Decker Flex

Black & Decker Flex Hi David - I like the overall design of the cleaner itself. The onboard 4ft hose is a nice feature, and makes the cleaner pretty versatile. There's a decent selection of tools, and I've even seen a version of the Flex with a little motorised brush-head for pet hair, etc...

    New Miele Canister

'I'd love to know what else these "straps" The 'straps' are airflow-guides. They're designed to direct the incoming debris (moving at anything up to 70mph) into the corners and edges of the bag so it fills evenly, and makes good use of its full capacity. Sorry to hear they're not working well...

    Exhibition update

Lol, apologies - that last post should have been addressed to Brian! The story is the important bit - it's one I've been explaining a lot over the last three months!

    Exhibition update

Hi Bob - as you might expect, the journalists have simplified everything slightly! I'll elaborate. After I was born, my mum went back to work - she had a very nice job working at Debenhams as senior buyer for the textiles department. This involved a lot of travel to places like Jerusalem and...

    Exhibition update

Thank you, Bob and Kenny - I'm not quite sure how you'd be able to watch the ITN clip, I think it's gone from the website now, and in any case, it's probably set so it can't be viewed outside the UK :( Here's an article on the exhibition extension - I think it's one of the nicest so far...

    Toy Hoover Turbopower

It seems the toy wasn't any stronger than the 'glass' TP Autoflex U2336 it shares a colour-scheme with! Be careful with it, Mark! <param name=allowscriptaccess...

    Toy Hoover Turbopower

I got one like that for Christmas when I was little!! A couple of weeks later, the handle snapped off, and my mum threw it away :( I don't know why I wanted it because I had my own real Junior 1346A to play with at the time!

    Exhibition update

Thanks Chris - we're now approaching the exhibition's last week (unless they suggest a further extension!), but the whole thing has been worthwhile and fun to do. I have a couple of other media things lined up, so there's still some mileage in the show yet!
