    Hoover 425

Hi Rob, In a couple of cases, the pictures in the Hoover service manuals do not show the cleaners with their original bags. The pictures are not contemporary of the cleaners themselves, they were taken, in some cases, decades later. The generic black Hoover cloth bags with the white striping...

    Hoover 425

    a) I believe the 425's transition from flat belt to round belt actually occurred during production; late models came new from the factory with the round belt set-up. b) The 875 shared the same bag design as the 160: blue underlining, and no vertical stripes. b) Quite right, Stephen, late 475s...

From the people who know it best...

Hi Mike, yeah, we passed through about 3 finger-print ID barriers to get to the RDD centre! The entrance itself is a revolving door, to prevent more than one person at a time from gaining access. I had to wear an armband to show I was an 'approved photographer' - Dyson take the protection of...

An Electrolux Polisher so grotty even I don't want to bid on it!

...and I wouldn't have ended up (after a session with a duster!) with this!

An Electrolux Polisher so grotty even I don't want to bid on it!

Doesn't look too bad to me, just dusty... If I'd followed that rationale, I'd never have bid on this...

what is best power nozzle you ever used

Hi Kenny, yes it would be the same brush-roll. I've used this on a large number of different carpet styles, and the only one I'd hesitate to use it on is looped pile wool. Otherwise, no issues whatsoever. As you can see, it really grooms well, and pick-up is amazing!

What about a nifty Dyson "Automatic Vac Wash"?

Sleep is for humans. I have work to do! I'll pass your comments on - as I say, I like the thinking, but it seems like a rather complicated solution to a minor issue. If people wash their filters every 3-6 months, dirt shouldn't build up in the cyclones to the point that performance suffers...

What about a nifty Dyson "Automatic Vac Wash"?

I understand what you're saying, and I can see the appeal...but people in the UK are still happily pushing around 17-year old DC01s which have never been dismantled, aside from perhaps a new powercord and hose... I just can't say I feel dirt building up within the cyclone pack is big enough of...

What about a nifty Dyson "Automatic Vac Wash"?

Forgot to say... This procedure applies to the DC14, 15, 18, 24 and 25. For the DC27 and 28, it's very slightly different. Tool storage is now on the spine of the machine, and the pre-motor filter has been moved to beside the motor. The cyclone pack is now topped by a manifold, which improves...

What about a nifty Dyson "Automatic Vac Wash"?

Voila! The complete cyclone assembly. It looks simple, but it's taken over 30 years of continuous development to GET this simple! The cyclone pack must be reconfigured for each new model to work with the precise dynamics of each machine.

Finally, the shroud assembly and the cyclone pack can be pulled apart.

Then you're at this stage...lift off the rubber gasket - this just sits in place.
