Hoover 913

This video is now over 2 years old, and doesn't really compare to the videos I make nowadays! However, it shows you how the 912 looks and sounds in use! <param name=allowscriptaccess...

    Dyson "blueprint"

Yup - the bin's made from clear polycarbonate: used in police riot shields, crash helmets etc. Great for anything which needs to withstand repeated blows without shattering or deforming!

No problem, Rob! I wouldn't call the bristles used by DC07 or the DC25 'stiff' at all, but the DC25s are stiffer than the DC07 - so it figures that if you had issues with the DC07, you'll have issues with the DC25. I'd hate to see you buy an expensive cleaner only to be disappointed. Do you...

    Inspiration behind the Windtunnel V2??

    Hoover WindTunnel

Hi Fred, thanks for the clarification about the serial no.! I remember you telling, me, Mike and Robert aboout the Windtunnel V2 when you drove us to the Kirby Factory! I've heard that the WT V2 was the first cleaner to be designed by Hoover on a new CAD system, which was the result of many of...

    Dyson "blueprint"

Rob - let me stop you there. If you found that the DC07 brush bar caused damage to your rugs (which I have to confess I find utterly mystifying, since the Hoover Windtunnel is way more aggressive than the DC07, and I've never heard you mention any damage resulting from that!), you will not like...

    Hoover 913

Tools... I can't remember who posted this manual in it's entirety on the forum quite a while back, but I found the files in one of my folders. This is the only 913-with-tools pic I've ever seen! Uses a very similar design to the one introduced by Model 425 in 1932!

    Hoover WindTunnel

I've visited the former Hoover Building in Perivale, West London at least 4 times, and I've been lucky enough to spend a day inside it, too! See the link below for my photos from inside: http://www.flickr.com/photos/vintagehoover/sets/72157605164594562

'I feel that if a Hoover is made in America, then it is Ah - that may well apply for America, but remember, Hoover also had factories in Canada, England, Wales, Scotland, South Africa and Australia, amongst others, all producing vacuum cleaners, washing machines and small appliances since the...

    Hoover WindTunnel

'one of the collectors I use to know absolutely HATED th Not sure who you're referring to, but some collectors hate all modern cleaners, period! I think a lot of collectors dislike the Windtunnel because they feel it's not a 'proper' Hoover - ie, metal, direct air and a cloth bag!

    Hoover WindTunnel

Hi Fred, thanks for the serial number info! So, mine is the 2470th off the line in December 2000? It's a great cleaner, but there's a few things I'd like to change about it before I was totally happy with it! What do you think of the Windtunnel 2?

    Hoover WindTunnel

Mine's made in the USA - serial no. 120000002470 They weren't sold for long over here - I think we had them in around 2000-01. They weren't successful in the UK - too big and bulky for most people's tastes!

    Hoover WindTunnel

Here's mine... ...ok, it says 'Maytag', but we know it's a Hoover, really! It's not much to look at, but it's probably one of the best carpet-cleaners I own. <param...

    Hoover WindTunnel

In Europe, we have cleaners rated at 2500w+. 1200w is considered 'eco friendly' here, since the average UK vacuum cleaner is rated at 1600w. New EUP legislation, set to come into force in the next few years, could change all that, though - it's going to restrict the electrical power input for...

    Hoover WindTunnel

'But Hoover over uses it...' How can you 'overuse' an effective feature? That's like saying 'Hoover overuse brushrolls, they should include a few straight-suction uprights in their range!'

Did anyone here get the hoover Lark On eBay?

'...they wanted $685.99 for worldwide postage!' That's ridiculous! I can't remember exactly how much postage I paid for mine, but I think about $70 at most!

    Cardboard Attachment Carriers

And here's mine - which is slightly different to yours. Mine had more pages, more pictures, and includes an introduction by Mr. Colston, and a page at the back advertising the Dustette. On the comparable page to the one I posted above, it has an extra paragraph:

    Cardboard Attachment Carriers

Al - what's the serial number of your 160? That's the easiest way to tell if it's pre- or post-war. Post-war serial numbers begin in January, 1945 @ A70,000. I've looked through your 160 manual, which you scanned for me, and you're absolutely right: no reference to the switch at all! How...
