    phantom vacuum

There is much history with Evan that many seem to have forgotten over the past 12 months, that finally pushed Big Fred's buttons.   When you are a paid member another feature is the ability to click on anyone's post count and read every post they ever made. Reviewing those Beaverton posts...

    Vacuette question

Aha! That spring it what keeps the clutch assembly pressed against the left bushing.

    phantom vacuum

"<a name="start_19836.221801">And my spell check has it set to always change it to tomaro" </a>   Every spellchecker I have used, on computers, smartphones and tablets have an 'add to dictionary' option, which pops up when you edit a red-lined & highlighted mistake.   Oh wait, you don't...

    Beginning to wonder.

These new ones don't even go to the trouble of having an internal cordwinder even though there is ample room in the carcass for one.   The reason, of course, is the cheap stiff vinyl jacketed power cord which does not coil easily...until is warms up while running the vacuum on high amps - a...

    Vacuette question

Tom, those are friction rollers, a type of clutch drive. They ride on the outside edge of the tapered slots in the slotted 'disc' next to them. In the forward push direction they ride up the inclines under centrifugal force and lock to the wheel's drive shaft so everything turns with the forward...

More Vacuums Available From The Tarantula Arms Collection

Enough of this thinly veiled inuendo, please. Early February's public squabble was embarrassing enough but to slyly resurrect it is unconscionable.   John Long, dear friend, please stop responding to guardsman's transparent prickling. We out here can easily read between his lines and you're...

"Uh, mom, we need a new vacuum cleaner"

Halfway down this archived thread about a rather spectacular 2008 curbside junk weekend haul is the Bagectomy I had to perform on a Kirby G4 tossed, literally, to the curb because "Mom says it doesn't work anymore". So stuffed with dirt that the inner bag had burst, filling the outer cloth bag...

Found a Rare Air-Way Hand Vacuum

Score! Nice Air-Way accessory, Chad. Of course it was made by Royal to Air-Way's specification and probably a premium bonus for 88 buyers, or there'd be a lot more of them around to find. Air-Way would have exposed itself to major patent lawsuits if it has copied Royal's handheld, never...

More Vacuums Available From The Tarantula Arms Collection

Hey guys, this thread from Fred begins:   "<a name="start_19687.219459">Make me an offer, I'll take the best one.  Please do not start a bargaining discourse on this thread.  If you have any questions about the machines please ask.  Otherwise, if you are interested, please email me at...

Forget the Flexi, lets go for an ORB instead...

Good for you! I have The Orb, keep it charged on my kitchen counter and love it, especially now that I am doing vacuum restorations on the kitchen workbench...er...table again. It's small, stylish, cute and really does the job picking up longhair cat furballs on the floor, and rebuild fragments...

    Any knowledge about russian vacuums?

And this complete in case PROGRESS cylinder I found on Kijiji for $30. Fortunately it had the hose connector ends, so I had to fit a hose, a cord - pretty blue - and initially I modified a pair of Kirby wands. The wand and tool diameter is slightly smaller that Standard North American - metric -...

    Any knowledge about russian vacuums?

Love that Sputnik-inspired SATURNAS. Here's my contribution; A stunning Electrolux-inspired cylinder in full streamline styling. It came up on the eBay France site a few years ago and I was bidding...but the vacuum was withdrawn from sale with 20 minutes to go. Rats! No clear pic of the top...

    LOVING CONNIE

There is no correct way with a Connie - personal choice. I think you can wrap the cord any way you like. 1. wrap it around the handle, takes a while to un-wrap. 2. coil it up and push the bundle under the handle, pull out the bundle and it's ready to plug in. Best for a Daily Driver. 3...

    LOVING CONNIE

Fair enough question, John.   You vacuumed with the vacuum stationary in the center of the room like a GE Reach-Easy, early Eureka Roto-matic or  an Air-Way 55. The GE Reach-Easy swivel-top and Lewyt side hose canisters had a blister dimple in the center bottom that kept the body centered on...

    LOVING CONNIE

From the man who has everything Hoover, Tom Anderson, this is a small section of his Constellation shelves.   Perhaps John Long has a few, too. LOL Oh, and Fred Masterweb has a couple of 'em, too. :-)   Dave

    LOVING CONNIE

I only have a few but they are all stellar examples I hunted down. Top picture - the all white with Canton Red trims is a Canadian made exclusive, USA didn't get it. Bottom picture is the three first edition swivel-tops (blue is non-floater) from 1954 through 1957.
