I ran the Classic III for the first time this morning - WOW! is that motor loud! It doesn't sound bad, but it's just a much higher volume level than my Dual Sanitronic 80. I assume that's because it's more powerful?

Mothers Mothers is a metal polish that should be available at most hardware and automotive shops - I also used a buffing wheel on a bench grinder to save time, but you can polish just as nicely by hand if you dedicate some time and effort.

Cleaning Thanks Richard! I used a magic eraser on the tank then turtle wax and Mother's on the metal. I'm really pleased with it too, but want to spend more time getting into all the crevices.

after a bit of cleaning

I just picked this up for $10 - no cord or attachments - I plugged it in with a cord I have and was delighted with how quiet it was (though it did shoot out a cloud of dust). The suction seemed alright, but not as strong as my LX. Other than washing the bag and cleaning and polishing, what could...

What I did was Took the bag off and hand washed it in a bucket with a product called Bioclean then let it line dry. I also put a small packet of something called "fresh wave" in the emptor that a guy at local vac shop recommended. Ran it tonight and didn't notice a smell!

I may be getting a xxx without a cord - does anyone have an extra they could part with? The xxx is going to cost me $7 and I'm hoping to find a cord in a comparable price range. Let me know what you've got. Thanks.
