Do you think there is anything wrong with my Hoover Convertible?

Another suggestion would be to buy a Cleveland Wood Products brushroll off of eBay. You can sometimes get them for under $20 w/ shipping. I have three convertibles, two very similar to yours, with CWP brushrolls and they run very smoothly. You will just have to get used to a runaway vacuum cleaner!

My first Hoover, but I need some help

When I ran into this dilemma, I brought the bag to a seamstress/fabric worker to have it repaired. I would suggest you do the same, but make sure you bring the zipper slider with you! Hope this helps!

    Hoover agitator

As far as I know . . . . . . there should be a curved metal washer that is placed down in the center hole of each end cap. The bearing (if you have the original bearing) sits on top of that washer. The washer serves as that "spring" because there is a small triangular clip that holds the...

    CWP Brushroll for Hoover Convertible?

Another idea would be to use an older, stretched Hoover belt when first using the new brushroll. If you have seen a video of a Convertible of this era running for the first time out of the box (of course, new brushroll and belt), you will notice that the motor runs quite slow initially and takes...

Hoover has CHANGED their round Convertible belts!!

No, you are not the only one. The gentleman at the vacuum cleaner store that I buy belts from always suggests that I keep round Hoover belts belts in plastic sandwich bags. He believes that they are made from a different rubber that is more seceptable to cracking. It is not necessary, however...

Hoover has CHANGED their round Convertible belts!!

You are making a mistake if . . . . . . you are using aftermarket (not genuine) Hoover belts. I am not saying that the latest belts are faulty, just different from the previous manufacturing. I had a similar experience when the eBay seller who sold me three CWP brushrolls included three belts...

    CWP Brushroll for Hoover Convertible?

I just ordered three of these last month . . . . . . and I am happy with them. I ordered them on eBay for $13.50 and installed them on three different convertibles, including a mid-70's metal based Convertible with a high-performance 4.7 amp motor and two 1980's plastic Convertibles. They do...

Hoover has CHANGED their round Convertible belts!!

It seems as though the latest OEM Hoover Convertible belt is slightly different from the previous rendition. Have any other Hoover collectors noticed this, or would you suspect a design flaw? I purchased some more belts from the vacuum cleaner store I have always bought my belts from. The...
