Dream machine acquired - Riccar Tandem Air

Brushroll change! I see they've changed the brushroll to a 2 row. Gonna have to get one of those. I've felt for the last few years that the 3 row creates shallower vibrations It's been the only reason to me to retain both the R30D, and the Simplicity S40P (since it was purchased new) I think...

    Central Vacuum Hot Takes

Hmm. Yeah i see some of your points with the retractable hose you need the space for the pipe work for it. I think i'd rather install something like a vroom or wally flex which despite my dislike of stretch hoses would be a lot easier to install with less space used for quick cleans. I've not...

Looking for information about Kenmore Elite uprights

Question. So that model with the pink trim advertises itself as a three motor vacuum. I'm not too familiar with the inner workings of those direct drive brushes, was it normal for them to have 2 motors inside the roller?

    Windsor Versamatic VSE 1-3

But having to use a separate hard floor tool is not something the general user wants. The felix/dart and the auto height models can be used on hard floors and if memory serves they were also cheaper in price vs the 370. I just don't see the need for that model in a residential setting when it it...

    Windsor Versamatic VSE 1-3

Hm What is the difference between the versamatic and the BS360? Is it just another case of 2 wire cord vs 3 wire cord? I think in today's age a 2 motor system without a brushroll shutoff is outdated for residential usage. Unless they've changed that with their recent generation but to my...

    Please awnser this survey.

Curious. Isn't putting out this survey going to skew the results away from what the average person thinks? I guess I'm not sure exactly what you're using the data to do or what point you're trying to make. I'm just seeing it as putting this out towards a group with a notable bias.

    Kirby split second vac WANTED!

Split second The Heritage II version of it was a cordless machine that could mount to the front of the handle. I'm not 100% on this but i think all models afterwards were corded machines with cigarette lighter plugs.

    Riccar 1800/Immaculate

Well. I've not worked on a ton of those machines but the ones i have have all have a single stage motor.Looking over schematics and descriptions I see a few motors that are labeled for multiple models from like the verve to the top of the line C390-2100. You really were paying for more...

    Riccar 1800/Immaculate

Not exactly I did test a verve which seems to share the same motor. They should be pretty close if not the same

Major Shift in the Central Vacuum Industry

With all this recent news I can't help but wonder is the central vacuum industry in decline? There seems to be a lot of consolidation of brands lately and now shutting down what seemed to be a large brand.

Do you remember your household vacs?

It's mine now! We had a Kirby Legend II. I traded my parents a G3 to obtain it back in the late 2000s and then in the last few years upgraded mom to a Sentria. we also had a Dirt Devil 103.

    Asking for opinions

Depends It really depends on how much you want it. $40 is high for a vintage machine I think but considering what they have been listed or sold for I think it's not terrible.

    Super Coach backpack vacuum.

Hmm I can't find the conversation but I think Les's unit had one of the "GV" heads on it. This is what one of the proteam heads looked like the EBK340C they had a computer like plug on them that mated wit the cord coming out of the handle. They also lacked a headlight and *may* be lower...

    Super Coach backpack vacuum.

A few Nice find. Proteams are very solid units. Unfortunate that they decided to not use paper bags, but at least they're a simple unit. I've got 4 backpacks currently. This Proteam FS6 with the EBL340c power nozzle, a Nacecare RSV130, a cordless Nacecare RBV 150NX and this Hoover shoulder...

    Riccar Spirit

Spirit plus? So while doing some more hunting on the spirit I came across this which appears to be a trademark or patent, unsure which, filing for a machine called the Spirit Plus so we may see a more featured model yet. https://uspto.report/TM/98276282

Omg! It's got a worm like motion to it! That's so strange. Thanks for sharing!

    Riccar Spirit

Found it! It looks like it's a single motor machine this is a re-introduction of a Vibrance machine which was the entry line before the R25 came alone. I feel like they were better cleaners than the 25

(2010) Simplicity Symmetry Classic model SYMCL.2

Ah! I remember those. That was the 2nd to the BOL I THINK it was about $50 more than the Entry model the difference was that this had the metal brushroll I don't think we saw the jump from 10 amps to 12 amps till the model just above this though.

    Bissell Air Ram

I have one. I got it from Joshp83. I find it's best used for post project cleanup as it's wider airpath allows it to pick up materials like nuts, screws etc. Now when it comes to like general cleaning it does alright on carpet it'll get up hair and surface litter but it's no deep cleaner. When...

    Riccar Spirit

strange.... It appears a new thread was started as a response? Anyways that's cool to see. I wonder if it'll be marketed towards the domestic or commercial market. I thought when they redid their lines riccar was to be their premium domestic machines simplicity their "retail" domestic lines and...
