Neato Robotics is being shut down after 18 years

It's a shame I Like their robots more than many of the other ones. The full sized brushroll I feel will deliver a better cleaning than many of the competitors which use a narrow brushroll with two side brushes. In addition to that their navigation while imperfect seemed to do a good job. I do...

Does anyone know how to repair a Shark?

a thought So were you getting continuity through those ports? A fairly common failure for the brushroll not running was the micro switch in the heads which is meant to shut off the brushroll when the unit was upright. If you're new to taking the head apart know that there may be screws beneath...

    Another small haul

Missing bag collar Hmm have you tried looking for an equivalent Philips part? I see they make hepa bags for the Oslo+ style and may import some when the paper ones run out. As for the airway it's straight suction

    Another small haul

Just back from a trip where I met up with my friend Josh who had picked up the Dirt Devil and Airway for me. We traded my Soniclean for the airram. I took a trip out to a vac shop where the owner lets me go through his used vacs where the Kirby D50 (bags in the garage) the Hoover 33 and the...

Is hyla suitable for thick carpets?

Possible via holes Well wessel werk does make a head with cutouts in it so I mean you could just do something similar, if necessary. The est really isn't too powerful a machine so if you do find it necessary I'd start from the outside adding them one at a time.

    Royal RY6900 vacuum

Gravedigging! Sorry to revive such an old topic but one of these has recently come up for sale so I'll be sharing photos from the ad as well as a link to the ad, it's over in WI. It's an odd machine. With no visible model tag I only found out what it was due to the Type N bags in the photos...

    What Kirby was this?

Why? Why does Kirby seem to shy away from discussing their old prototypes. I think it would be rather interesting to see what they've tried over the years, and perhaps know why they decided not to further pursue them.

Is hyla suitable for thick carpets?

No answer Just curious have you tried the soft carpet plate for your felix? it adds some bleeder holes so that it can't clamp as much. Part number 2302SC As for the hyla, despite owning an est, I can't say for sure but the fact that it has no height adjustment or suction relief valve doesn't...

    Work vacuums!

Well... We mostly have windsor versmatic pluses which have now been discontinued so they'll be replaced with versamatics when the pluses go. We also have Proteam backpacks but very few people use them. There's also the odd advance carpetreiver 28

    Bernina/Evolution or Just Evolution

I like them I had one of the bernina badged 6700s way back when and currently have a slightly newer model 6709Z which was a candidate for my daily driver before I settled on the proteam 1500xp. They're a simple machine which works well

    the unwanted kirbys

Been there. Don't beat yourself up about it. You at least made an effort to pass them on. I've done that before too if something fails to sell it gets donated or tossed depending on what it is. Once you've decided to part with something you want it done with you don't want it sitting around...

    Best vacuum for shag carpeting

For shag? I'd say the Soniclean soft carpet would be a good bet. The bags are a little costly and you won't have local dealers for them but they're made to be light and work with thicker pile carpets

    New machine…

Interesting. I thought the horsehair bristles were the softest. I was aware of 3 types of strips and I thought they were in order from stiffest to softest were. Nylon Vinyl (white) Horsehair Enjoy your new machine though! They seem extremely handy.

What ARE these type of vacuums called?

oh! I found some photos of my old one via the search function. The one above is slightly different and the hose would plug into the plug on top of the dirt chamber where on mine it plugged into the main suction chamber

What ARE these type of vacuums called?

Another While it's bagless and more like a stick vac there was this Dirt Buster by black and decker. It was such a strange machine the handle was removeable and all it really did was hold the hose/cord so it was unnecessarily oversized then we have the design of the base. It had a main suction...

    I now own a Kirby

Kirby I think any good collection should have at least 1 Kirby they're an iconic brand. If you find those water spots are bothering you get some very fine sand paper like 1200 grit wet the spot with polish and sand it until the spot is gone. You'll need to re-polish it afterwards, labor...
