    B&D flex Powerbrush

It was, thank you for bringing that to my attention.... that would be really nice in the car and for getting cat hair off the microfiber couch and ottoman....

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

Here's a video I made of my Sebo upright so you can see just how easy it is to use the hose on....

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

What about... I'm only suggesting this because you liked how easy your Fantom was to use the wand on (by the way, you must have gotten a good Fantom, becuase I was never impressed with the hose suction of any Fantom upright I ever tried.... they did great on carpet, but the hose was terrible...

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

NYCWriter, I agree with Durango... I think airflow, agitation, and brush design have more to do with cleaning than weight. I'm clumsy, and I had an accident with my Electrolux Diamond Juibilee canister once and fell into the folding closet doors, but I didn't trip over the machine exactly... I...

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

NYCWriter, I've heard stories about that Kenmore Intuition canister being plagued with electical problems... I think Durango mentioned that, but I've heard it elsewhere before too (maybe in reviews?)... I also think that you would not be happy with a Dyson because part of the problem you have...

My Two latest USA vacuum cleaners

I think a lot of people who are into collecting Dirt Devils like that model... I once lived with a lady that had one and it cleaned circles around her bagless non-self propelled WindTunnel, which was awful (it clogged in about 3 seconds flat and something was wrong with the suction diverter...

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

Steve, don't call yourself stupid because other people have a different opinion than you. I don't know you yet, so I don't know what kind of self esteem you have, but nobody should feel they are stupid because other people stated some things they don't like about a certain vacuum cleaner.

Help! Shopping for New Vacuum and Overwhelmed

The Hoover Lightweight Platinum bagged is a nice machine and is compact, nimble, and agile for apartment use... it also has a low speed for quieter use though the difference in noise leve isn't significant. I'd likely go for a more quality machine if money were no object. I use my Miele...

    Hoover Windtunnel 2/Z700

Hooverman, I agree... I hate D/loop style handles, especially on uprights... I think they are too restrictive and don't really help...

    Hoover Windtunnel 2/Z700

Cam2s, I have the same brown shag rug you do, and the Hoover Z 700 is one of the few uprights I can use on it... Kirbys and Eureka F and G style uprights work well too, but not much else does... I usually use the Sentria when I want to give it a deep clean or a straight suction for surface...

    Hoover Windtunnel 2/Z700

I have the Z 700, and it really is a conversation piece... as far as actual use, the suction and airflow are abysmal, but the agitation is good. It is super heavy and bulky... not agile or nimble at all... the electric height adjust is cool as are the headlights in the front, but that's about...

In the Market for a PN Canister

It's really a tough choice. I agree with you about Electrolux power nozzles not being deep cleaners. I didn't think Miele had a mini-power head, and I've never been impressed with the Sidekicks (the one for my Renny rattles and isn't powerful, and the youtube videos I've seen seem the same)...

    Horrid Hoover Jovis

I like the way it looks, but with the dust cup and the "works" on the bottom, I imagine it is rather clumsy and awkward... If you can still find a black and decker flex, I really like them....

    I Just Got a 1994 Dirt Devil Broom Vac DB720 !

Congrats.... I love mine, if for nothing else the nostalgia (reminds me of a Kirby or Royal with the wingled nozzle and rear mounted, soft bag)... mine is the one with the rocker switch, and I'd prefer the one with the spring loaded pedal, but otherwise it's the same machine. I remember the...

    Sanyo Transformax, finally!

OK, I got the thing dried out and put back together.... I found a great way to dry the the parts... put them in the closet with the dehumidifier running overnight and they are bone dry and undamaged (I've tried the dishwasher before, but that can melt parts, and is always full of clean or dirty...

    Sanyo Transformax, finally!

So, today, I went to a thrift store and found a Sanyo Transformax. I've wanted one for years, and I had almost given up the search because I thought they were impossible to find. This was the same thrift store that I found my Sharp straight suction canister at last month (the one that has the...
