    Vibragroomer I or II?

I realize there's been a lot of discussion about the various Vibragroomer brushrolls. I wanted to get some more specific information on them, however. I know some prefer the VGI, others the VGII. Obviously, they are of a different design: VGI has a sculpted aluminum spiral body, VGII is a...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

Am I right in thinking that putting the holes across the front would interfere with using the magnet bar?

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

I've had the chance to use the modified Sanitaire further and I can't say it lacks for performance. It still cleans very, very well. The one thing I do like a lot is that the suction feels a lot more consistent. There's really no feeling of sucking down onto the carpet. I want to install the 8...

    Sebo's Best Vacuum

Hi, William. I believe Sebo_fan had mentioned reusing the new synthetic bags. I have not tried it myself so don't have any insight on it. My thoughts about the Felix is that it's a great upright for carpets and bare floor. The pivoting steering mechanism at the joint makes it so easy to turn...

I have wanted one of these for years and I have one ( kind of rare )

Interesting. This vacuum looked suspiciously like my Clarke Filtrapac backpack vacuum. Upon looking it up, Clarke sells a combivac that's IS the Fakir. I din't know about Fakir until now. I guess it's another case of rebadging. I guess that's why you can use the Clarke combivac bags with it. Cool!

    Sebo's Best Vacuum

I like my Felix a lot. It handles like a dream - I can't think of another vacuum I've used that's as easy to maneuver. It's a real pleasure to use. It's weird, but the Felix is so mild-mannered and the powerhead is so restrained sounding that I almost feel it can't be cleaning that deeply. But...

    Emer Hercules clean air upright

Those bags look a lot like those for the Lindhaus vacuums and the Windsor Versamatic. I wonder if they mimicked the Lindhaus down to using the same, readily available, bag. It seems they would do that rather than designing a proprietary bag. It's hard to tell from the picture whether it's the...

    New SEBO 370 Comfort

Please let us know about that new Felix motor, Gareth. A lot of us are Felix owners and we're very interested to know. Are those Bosch B/S/H motors known to be good? I understand there was some reliability issues with the original Ametek Italia motors which is why Sebo changed them. I thought...

Vacuuming Carpet vs. Area Rugs: same thing or different requirements?

How does that bode for the Lindhaus? If the Lindhaus is designed for real-life vacuuming (ie, quick vacuuming as most people do), would the vacuum not have to be very aggressive to dig out the dirt that quickly? It seems to be at odds with the description of the brushroll as gentle. I have a...

Sound damping sheets for your vacuum - has anyone tried it?

Gareth, Good to hear. I can't picture the thin, high density foam you're referring to. Is it available to the public?

    New SEBO 370 Comfort

Dommel motors... I recall someone on the forum saying Sebo is now using the Dommel motors in the Electronic 370, and that these motors burn out a lot faster than the old manufacturer's motor. It was suspected that Sebo did so to increase the replacement rate of the vacuum, thus generating more...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

@twocvbloke... Yes, I initially was of the same mind - that holes towards the front bottom would be better. Like on the Tristar, as per your example. As long as the holes are slightly above the level of the nap they won't get choked by it, as is the origial problem with the nozzle. When I have...

    Riccar 8905

Nice...! I hope you enjoy it. I have several Riccars, including one that looks identical you yours. They are very good vacuums! Good score.

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

Yeah, it's interesting. At this point I'm at the limits of what I can figure out, too. I would think it's much easier for an engineer or physicist. As for the effects of hole spacing, I don't know. In an R&D situation I expect there would be paper calculations and modeling first, and then 3d...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

Yes, very interesting. So maybe three 3/32" holes per side? I like the idea of spacing them out across the back of the nozzle. I imagine that would be beneficial though, again, I'm just surmising there.

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

No problem, Trebor. Glad we caught that before anyone started drilling! It seems that four 1/16" holes per side will allow for wider, more even spacing across the back of the nozzle. Might be a good thing. It's been a while since I've taken physics, but I think there's significantly more drag...

    Mini-PN for TriStar CXL?

Hi, Erik. Thanks for the link to the mini wand. I did get an older Rainbow Mate of ebay and it seems very good. Because there is hardly any space for the pigtail once the mini nozzle is pushed onto the pistol grip, that extension wand is necessary. I was actually going to saw down one of my...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

Sure, I'll post pics when I get the chance. Trebor, we got our math slightly wrong. If you think about it, two 1/16" holes will match the diameter of one 1/8" hole, but the surface area is not the same. The two 1/16" holes represent a smaller opening. It might be that you may need something...

    Thoughts on Trebor's Sanitaire modification.

I'm going for the 8 position switch. But I am now interested in experimenting with 1/16" holes on one of my other 3 Sanitiares, all blue line. I imagine two 1/16" holes evenly spaced on each of the left and right sides of the rear intake nozzle walls would be correct. It seems that angling the...

    Tri Star DXL Question

Securing the filter basket... Sandy, Would it be possible to secure the filter basket with some short screws, some locking washers, and some nuts? Or some Locktite if no locking washers? Those rivets sound like a pain to deal with if the basket ever needs servicing. If treated well, one would...
