According to my expertise, I believe only 3 Kirbys don't have the handle slot: The Kirby Dual Sanitronic 80, Sentria and Sentria II.

My mom had the one on the left for 17 years!! She loved it and we were so sad when it finally bit the dust (no pun intended). My grandmother had the Panasonic Jet Flo MC-6215 and it was two toned blue. Oh it was my favorite!!

I'd say go with Kirby because this is my grandmother's Kirby that she bought brand new on July 25, 1967. It was the last vacuum she ever had to buy and she was using all up until when she died last year at the age of 91. She was so proud of her Kirby!
