    Electrolux Model LX Question

Electrolux Model LX gasket. Hi Charles: My guess is age, after all it would be 72 years old. I think the rubber has cracked, or simply worn out. Things like this are common for vacuums this old.

    Some Electrolux Model LX Miscellaney

rugsucker. Yes there were. These were the people in Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas mentioned in the Electrolux News. As to the model LX, there was a huge gala held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City in October 1952 to usher in the 'New Automatic.' Seems that the early machines were sold...

    Electrolux XX and XXX

What a goldmine the XXX was. Electrolux called it 'The Dirt Digger.' It was the top of the line from 1937 till 1955 with the introduction of the LX.

    Electrolux XX and XXX

What a goldmine the XXX was. Electrolux called it 'The Dirt Digger' and was the longest model in production, 1937-1954, (some say up to 1955.) As it was the high end model over the XX, was the lower when the LX came out in 1952.

    Electrolux XX and XXX

Great marketing pitch, I have both, but I prefer the XXX. As these were both prewar (May of 41)the best was yet to come with the postwar XXX and a myriad of attachments.

Thank you Paul, I can add this information to what I have on the early stages of development. All my patent books are of the model LX in the late 1940's and up to 1952.

Kirby Broomstick. Hi David: While Vacumman beat me to the punch this is what's in my Kirby patent book. It's hardly a broomstick, but very effective. I love the versatility of this, and it shows the creativity of James Kirby's mind. I'm very glad you got to see it. Alex Taber.

    Hoover Electric Broom model S2015.

Check the book Fabulous Dustpan. If my memory is right, then Zollinger's had a store in the Fowler building in what is now North Canton.

    Hoover Electric Broom model S2015.

Zollinger's. That rings a bell. As you're the expert on this one, wasn't Zollinger's in North Canton, Ohio where Murray J. Spangler worked before inventing The Electric Suction Sweeper?

    Possibly rare Electrolux hose question

Kenny, I forgot to tell you that the hose looks correct, in fact they both may be, with the beige one the newer. Just swap out the cord to the p n. if you want it correct.

    Possibly rare Electrolux hose question

Wow it even has the bags which are hard to locate. Yes, this is a newer version as there are cord holders, the early ones didn't have that. And there should be two clips in back to hold the power nozzle, with wands inside a storage compartment. The manual should tell you all you need to know...
