    Some 2016 VCCC photos

Was there a group pic taken this year at the VCCC convention? That would be nice to see. Actually any more pics would be nice to see. I had to miss this year's convention sadly, so pics are the next best thing to being there!

MY ULTIMATE HOLY GRAIL DREAM MACHINE IS HERE!!!

Low boy? That's an amazing cleaner, should clean up well! "Low boy" is a new term to me, would someone help me out with that?

Rebuilt Kirby 2C 1936 (FOR SALE)

Kyle, you nailed it eloquently and without being snide or hateful. I have to tell ya, I'd nab that 2C for 200.00, and if that is leased space at an antique mall, ask to contact the seller, they may take less!

Rebuilt Kirby 2C 1936 (FOR SALE)

Hi John..welcome to VL. I have that same Kirby, all original except the cord. Mine has the original model plate on the bottom, and just has a C in front of the serial nbr. There are much more knowledgeable collectors on this site than myself. Maybe someone can clarify the differences between the...

    Universal?

I know over the years Landers Frary and Clark made vacuums badged under various names, but this is the first time I've ever seen one under their own name. Even the paperwork says Universal, which I knew were made by them. Is this an oddity? Maybe one of our historians might be able to shed some...

Kirby Tradition vacuum - curb find

That's what happens... I just went in and counted mine, wasn't sure of how many. The oldest is a model C, the newest is an Ultimate G..grand total 21. That's too many! Older than the C is a Scott & Fetzer but has the earliest Kirby bag and the brushroll is moved by the wheels. There's a Super...

    Wards Signature Cordaway find

Wards must have sold a ton of those, as I have one as well. Mine is in really nice shape with the original bag, but the bag is tearing away from the connector in the front. I wonder if there's any repair that could be made to fix that..some sort of glue?

    First Rainbow?

Is this the first model with the Rainbow name? It looks to be in exceptional shape, though short of being complete with everything. http://www.ebay.com/itm/112016527503?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

    My new Oreck XL100C

Very nice Oreck, especially for the age. A lot of our customers preferred the "stick handle" Orecks. They were always 299.99 except around the holidays and no longer had lights. Where did you order your light bulbs if I may ask? How about a glam shot with it lit up!

    Rarest convertible in the land....

I wish I had the deep pockets for this.....such a thing of beauty! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1958-Hoover-Golden-Anniversary-Promotional-Upright-Rare-Vintage-Vacuum-/112015685337?hash=item1a14a7b6d9:g:44oAAOSwOVpXUKqx

    Oreck XL9100 Possible Motor Issue

I worked in an Oreck store for a few years up until two years ago. When you have those symptoms, especially the smell, it's time to replace. You may have to alter the wires a bit, but if you like the machine, I'd drop a new motor in it. Keep in mind, if it's a new motor, it's going to have more...

    Riccar America Upright

Kinda funny..... Riccar "America" with a made in Taiwan sticker! I will say, I have a Simplicity 7300, 12amp., also made there, and it kicks a**. Too bad they didn't show the bottom to show the condition. It looks kinda rough body wise to warrant the price to me. Even though the chrome looking...

NIB Kirby Heritage rescued from the thrift store!

Equal opportunity collector.... Good for you Fred! I just didn't remember seeing any when I was at the house. I must've confused you with someone else that just collects Hoover! I was thinking of Mr. Long..and I know of one other here in the states. (ducks and runs)[this post was last...

NIB Kirby Heritage rescued from the thrift store!

Smelling salts.... Followed by a perfect margarita for me please! The only thing that would've been better had it been a new Hoover in box, but I'm sure you can still appreciate it! Now that I think about it, do you even own a Kirby?

This ol' girl just came into the shop... Anyone have any info on it?

Seriously...someone wants that repaired? People never cease to amaze me. I wouldn't even let that in my house, much less use it. Maybe their garage vacuum for the car? One could only hope...

    Windtunnel question....

Thanks Fred! It's amazing how some things stick in the mind, and others are gone in a fleeting moment! Ah, the joys of getting old, but somehow managed to pull that info out of my mind's archives...scary.

    Newbie with a Hoover question

A promotional model usually means exclusive to say a catalog, like Spiegel or Aldens, maybe Kmart, or a hardware store chain, etc. Nothing really special or notable really, that I know of. I have that model checked off on my list as having it, but must've given it away or sold it as I don't see...
