    Future of Vacuums/Vacuuming?

Rob I do agree that things will become more electronic with more sensors in the vacuums for maintenance, cleaning and optimal performance. This along with better cleaning heads for both bare floors and carpets. I think these changes will start with the high end vacuums and work their way down...

    Future of Vacuums/Vacuuming?

Trying to think what the future of vacuuming will be in about 10, 20yrs? I think the robotic vacuums will become more popular as the technology gets better and prices go lower. I also think the higher end companies like Miele, Sebo Aerus, Kirby and Tacony will have to innovate to stay relevant...

    End of Dyson Cinetic?

Possible Reasons for the Cinectic Demise..... In addition the the reasons Tom mentioned I can see why they might want to discontinue the Cinetics line: 1) They are probably getting costly for them to keep servicing, since the dust is getting into the motors and a lot of people are coming back...

    Kirby Ultimate G Diamond

Ok, now I get it. I read the motors on the Diamond were burning out quicker and it is because the switch was never left to be on more than a small amount of time. Thanks for telling me because I would have bought one used it as my "low speed Kirby" and killed the motor too. Well it kind of make...

    Kirby Ultimate G Diamond

Thinking about getting one of these soon. I like the idea of the two speeds, I think it could come in handy....as long as is doesn't break down. Just trying to decide which route I want to go. There is one locally on CL for about $70 but it looks like a fixer upper from the pictures. Now if I...

    Current Upright Carpet Cleaners

Bissell Big Green Let me add another endorsement of the Bissell Big Green. It's great. It has transformed my carpets and is easy to use too. At this point I couldn't do without one. Get the turbo brush and it will work well on stairs too. You can sometimes catch them on sale directly from Bissell.

    Best looking vacuum ever made.

Sptyks Now that Classic III is the best Kirby I have seen so far. Wish Kirby would still add some color like that. I like the look of the Avalir, but some dark red would help the look even more.

    Another new toy

Bidding on KarensBarn items You are right that people get caught in the frenzy of bidding on some Karensbarn items. A couple of Miele Dynamic U1's for parts sold for not less than you can get a working U1 for. I bid when it was at about $50, but then the price shot up well over $100. Either...

    Some Kirby Questions

Rug Plate You guys were right about the rug plate. Works better with less vibrations too. I got the 152502 brushroll also. Only used it for a couple of minutes and it seems to work well without beating my rug to crap and pulling up too many fibers. More testing to come.

    Dyson DC65 Airflow Losses

Bill True about the Animal 2, but as far as I can see it is a small improvement at best of the older Ball Animal. But to circle back as to the reason why I think people buy them it is because they generally get them cheap, or at least cheaper than the MSRP and also most think they are powerful...

    Dyson DC65 Airflow Losses

Well, you would have to lack online skills or be just plain lazy to pay $600 for any Dyson. Right now you can get the DC65 refurb for about $219 from the Dyson outlet or a total clean new for $300. So when the public sees a discounted Dyson they think they are getting one of the best bargains in...

    Aerus Lux Guardian Platinum

electromatik Here is the thing.....suction alone is not the only thing high end buyers are looking for because if it there are many other machine that could match or beat the Aerus such as the brand you hate Kirby. Even among canisters the Tacony and Miele, while maybe not the best airflow...

    Some Kirby Questions

I ordered a rug plate. I also ordered a 152502 brushroll. I want something a little less aggressive so I don't kill my carpets.....and to lessen the vibrations too.

    Some Kirby Questions

OK got an Avalir today. I like it and it does what it says, deep cleans your carpet. I can feel the vibrations as it agitates the hell out of my carpet. Now a question.....I used the recommended procedure to figure out the height... Wait until I hear first contact and then lower it on more time...

    Direct air power nozzle

Well, if anyone has a cheap Baird meter they want to sell me, I now have a C3 an Avalir and U1. Oh, and a Moxie too. Marcus - Now you get what I was saying in my thread about UK prices vs US prices. In the case of Miele they tend to be about twice what you pay. In the case of Sebo anywhere from...

Servicing a Miele 236 Power Nozzle

Agree about the SEB 236 It's a PITA to work on but definitely not rocket science. I think anyone that is used to working on their own vacuums can do it. I cleaned mine out and oiled the brushroller a couple of nights ago before I saw the video. I got through it in less than an hour without ever...

    Dyson V8 Animal

Dyson V6 & V8 Yes, they are strictly for convenience, but you know what the cordless models are some of their most popular vacuums. I have both the V6 and V8 and despite all of the other vacuums I own, they are my wife's favorites. She doesn't want to worry about plugging in and wants something...

What's Most Important To You: Filtration, Airflow, or Ergonomics?

Ergonomics is everything!!! Ergonomics!!!!! Let's face it guys most of the better vacuums have more than enough airflow for most home tasks. Filtration is important too, and most of the best bagged vacs are good enough, but if you can't stand the usability, you will not use that great...

Need Help With My Simplicity Moxie

Rob The PN is not too loud but is not quiet enough for late night vacuuming either. I also just wish the vacuum would start where you left off as far as suction too, but it always starts at full suction. Oh and the light is a little dim. I will change the bulb to see if that makes a difference...
