In the Market for a PN Canister

ET-1 Unfortunately, the ET-1 just does not work for my carpet. It does not spin fast enough and seems to get bogged down on certain areas of my carpet. This is why I will take Miele canisters any day over the Sebo canisters. At least with Miele you have choices of PN's. With Sebo you basically...

    Why So Many Models?

Premium Market The premium market will survive but there will probably be fewer companies offering fewer products in the future. Since durability is no longer a selling point for premium vacuums, as I have mentioned in several other threads, premium vacuum makers will probably have to have...

    Why So Many Models?

Low End Miele Models....... They may eventually come out with new low end models.....we will see. If not, it probably just shows that it's getting tough for premium vacuum makers to compete with the Dysons and Sharks in that price range. Mike

How to Clean Cyclones of Typical Bagless Machines

This is why my Dyson Cinetic is in storage. With my dust allergies I would be sneezing for hours if I had to clean out the cyclones like that. Great videos. Would definitely like to see you video some of your tests with the results. Mike

    Why So Many Models?

Mike Spoke to the my dealer and he told me about the changes and how they eliminated many of the C1's and C2's he is not too sure why and hates the fact that they did that because he said a couple of the models that are now gone sold well. I suspect Miele is concentrating on the upmarket models...

How Hard Is It To Push A Vacuum

Wish you had more uprights like the Sebo X4, Miele U1 and Felix Sebo to test. Would like to see how they fall in with the rest of the pack.

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

Electromatik Totally agree with you. Technology marches on and I am sure if we can make satellites and telescopes like the Hubble work in the vacuum of space with their remarkable technology, lowly earth bound vacuums will be no problem. While we may not get 30 or 50 year old vacuums in the...

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

Well, I think whether we like them or not the electronics in vacuums are here to stay and will probably increase going forward.... ie....robotic vacuums, electronic handle controls, suction controls, dirt sensors, filter sensors etc. Now, while I am not calling for Bluetooth vacuums (Even...

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

Speed Control I am the opposite. I rarely buy vacuums that DON'T have speed controls. In my opinion every premium vacuum should have them and if you don't need it just run the vacuum at full blast. The lack of electronics in vacs is an old excuse for poor workmanship and lack of QC. If my car...

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

Wow, with so many issues with the M1200, this is why I am sticking with my Miele U1's. Which while they have many of the same issues, like weight, can be had a lot cheaper than the M1200, they do handle better and do clean well.

    Got My Maytag M1200 Today!

Tom Any plans to update the TOL Tacony canisters with the Tandem Air power nozzles? I like the controls of the Moxie.....now combine that with the new nozzles and you really would have a winner. Actually, any plans to update or replace the TOL canisters? Hasn't their design been around over a...

What's Most Important To You: Filtration, Airflow, or Ergonomics?

Gsheen I totally agree for most people vacuuming is a chore and whatever makes that chore easier.....ie... a vacuum that is easy for them to use is the most important thing. Everything else is a distant second. Mike

Need Help With My Simplicity Moxie

At home you can hear the differences a bit better on normal carpet. My SEB 236 is from 2015. Some of the older ones can squeak and a bad brushroll does sometimes cause vibrations. I have lubricated my 236 so the brush runs smooth and the wheels do not squeak at all. When there are no squeaks or...

Need Help With My Simplicity Moxie

Power Nozzles I have several power nozzles here right now. Here is how they rank from quietest to loudest. 1) Miele SEB 236 2) Sebo ET-1 3) Miele SEB 228 4) Simplicity SPB226 I have lived with all of these PN's several months now and the only one I consider to be stealth is the SEB 236. I can...

Need Help With My Simplicity Moxie

3 Strip Brushroll Got a 3 strip brushroll for my Moxie. It is much improved over the 2 strip brushroll that was in there. The bristles in the 2 strip were still in good shape, but I wanted to see in the 3 strip brushroll would improve the power nozzle and it did. It is more quiet. It does seem...

What's Most Important To You: Filtration, Airflow, or Ergonomics?

Yeah the masses only care about the ease of use (ergonomics) and how well it can clean the pet hairs. As long as a vacuum is easy to use for what they need it to do and it can get the pet hairs and mess off the floor, they are fine with it.

    Future of Vacuums/Vacuuming?

Human As I mentioned before, there will always be basic vacuums for you. But the plain and simple fact is that electronics are here to stay. They are most likely in your car and in your home, heck you reaching us from an electronic device. They can be made to work in all appliances reliably. We...

    Future of Vacuums/Vacuuming?

Kevin There will always be basic vacuums out there for those who want them. Electronics will be the way to add convenience to vacuuming for those that want and are willing to pay extra for it. Many of these features already exist, but can be improved on like dirt sensors and filter sensors...

    Future of Vacuums/Vacuuming?

What I wish for...... I think future innovation needs to come from the premium market in order for them to not only do well but for many like us to have future machines to look forward to and look back fondly at our older vacuums. I would like improved tech, so we do not have to worry about the...

    Future of Vacuums/Vacuuming?

Yes, I do think Miele, Sebo and Tacony will still be around as there will always be a market for premium vacuums. The only question is.....if they do not innovate can they still sell well enough to not become niche brands in the vacuum world? I think among the premium brands Miele has the best...
