Spencer.... Hoover made after 1987 can be dated by the first 4 digits of the serial number. So in this case 0899, equals August of 1999. I can tell you right now, just by looks I can tell you its not from the 1980's.

I can tell you... No they do not, However, they do have the screwholes where the sockets screw onto the machine body. So you could find a one speed model with headlights and convert it.

That cord reel was made by a company called..... Cordmatic. They also produced cord reels for the earlier luxes (meaning the XXX, and LX, LXI), as well as the first Hoover Portable with cord reel, before Hoover began to make them in house.   My recommendation, is to just find a real nasty...

I think is a... BeeVac, made by Birtman Electric. But not 100% on that. That 2nd 700 is a really good find! Beacuse it has the orginal cord and Hoover plug intact. If somone would be able to find a orginal bag (which can be done, just takes time), then one would have a all orginal 1926 Model 700.
