The last machine of my youth has been found!

So many of you, as so for my self, some of our greatest memories from our childhood when visiting family members is of their vacuum cleaners. If they were a favorite Aunt or Uncle, or they just had a machine that you found fascinating, or both, it always leaves a impression on your memory.  That...

Grease for Brand New Concept 1 Needle Bearing

my pleasure! I am perfectly happy that you found my advice useful! That turned out to be a beautiful machine!   I wish they would have used double ball bearing too! I know Hoover did use a upper sleeve bearing on the lower line Celebrity canisters (their motor construction is a lot like...

Grease for Brand New Concept 1 Needle Bearing

I just use a good stiff.... White or black lithium grease. I find that a grease gun with a needle ejector attachment is the best to direct the grease exactly where it needs to go.  Then I take a Q tip and press the grease into the little needles and spaces, just to make certain it is really...

Keeping parts in stock (overkill maybe?)

Just like Harley there..... I see nothing wrong with that at all! Especially now that I am paying for a house, there is really no way I can go drop 5 or 6 bux on a pack of bags for something.  I usually try to avoid belts however, because they do have a tendency to dry out,  but other then...

    Hoover Celebrity II

No problem at all... While we are on the subject, I thought I would show you my Celebrity II Elite. Also I thought I would show you my Celebrity II Estate, beacuse mine is a 1975 model with the early hose. The Estate was one step down from the Elite.

    Hoover Celebrity II

Very nice find! Yours is a 1977, 1978 model. The Celebrity II's were introduced in 1975, the II meaning that it featured the new Powermatic head. That one was the TOL in Cinnamon and Regal brown. The very first of those had the smaller Hoover plug, as opposed to the square plug that was...

Offering this for sale. It is dated 1973. This has been COMPLETELY restored, and is in perfect working order. New brush strips, new belt, clean bag, motor serviced, everything washed and sanitized by machine. Cord and motor are original.  Unfortunately the bag is not orginal, but I put this...

    THE GREAT KANSAS MEET

We all had a De'Vine time! We even got to play a little dress up!...LOL......It was nice to have guests, and very kind of Karl and his partner to make the trip up here. It was well worth it.   I hope you enjoyed your visit to Jae Place!

Bison Mark II and Hoover 105 or is it a 102

105.... I don't know who told you that about the 105 motor, but that is incorrect. My model 105 has a motor that was made by Robins and Myers. I was with the belief that the 541 (the very next model after the 105), was the first to have a actual motor made in-house by Hoover.  Do a google...

    SUPER RARE VINTAGE COLLECTIBLE

I think..... The term "rare" is neither here nor there. What could be rare to one person (abiding to the correct contexts of the meaning of the word), may not be rare to another. Especially when we are talking about us, and vintage vacuum cleaners. Where one model, may be well sold, or often...

    Eureka easy glide

Thank you Tom.... I took a gamble for 25 cents, and it appears I have won.

    Eureka easy glide

Yes Eurekaprince I realize that.... But since there is no indication of style on the bag, or bag package, I am trying to find out if these are Style T bags.

Maybe if... Tom G would take a look at this post, since he has a bunch of these bags...=)

    Eureka easy glide

Ok, question.... I see from the two pictures in this thread that the Eureka Easy Glide takes style "T" bags.  I found these bags in a thrift store, I believe they were made by Eureka due to the bag material, and the printed script, also the Sanitized logo.  But they were in a plain clear...

    1981 Montgomery Ward (Eureka).

I had to get on my PC to get this picture... I also have to correct my self, it pulls 90, which is still very impressive for a canister of 1981.
