The universe is groaning over this incomprehensible tragedy

LOL Is the seller serious in making this remark: "This is the thanks I get for rescuing the kirby from the dump?" Really? I'd reply to him: "USE YOUR HEAD! This is what you get when you rescue things from the dump that you know nothing about and THEN try to sell them to make money!"...

    My Vacs

The Kenmore Power Mate My aunt had a Kenmore just like yours, but it was olive green in color (and yes, it did have the fake wood on it). I think hers might have been a bit older, however. Does yours say "Magicord" on it? I remember distinctly how the power nozzle sounded on that vacuum. I...

    Question About Servicing a PN-2

Thanks! Ok, I was able to open it up...I just wanted to be sure there wasn't a special trick involved. Now that I've got it open, it's FILTHY inside! Now I can clean it, lube the bearings, and put in a new brushroll and it'll be as good as new.

    Question About Servicing a PN-2

Ok, so I tried to open up my PN-2, but found that once I got the aluminum plate off the bottom (that covers the brush roll), it was completely inapparent what to do next in order to remove the plastic cover. There are no other screws to remove. Anyone familiar with taking these apart?

    Electrolux Power Nozzles

And While We're Discussing Power Nozzles in Such Depth.. Is there any way to adjust the height of the brushroll in a PN-2? I've noticed that the PN-1 is actually better at "sweeping" up debris on my low-pile carpets than the PN-2 is. I am considering just replacing the brush roll in the...

    Electrolux Power Nozzles

Nice! The Canadian PNs are quite nice. I like the fact that even though they're different from the American PNs, they're unmistakably Electrolux products. Bob, with regard to your PN-1...have you found that the plastic housing/sheath has become more brittle over time? I did notice a tiny...

    Electrolux Power Nozzles

Power Nozzles! Fred, I also have a PN-2 with a blue sheath and pigtail connector. I haven't yet posted a photo of it because I haven't polished it up as of yet. From my understanding, this is the progression of the Lux PNs from the earliest up until the Golden J...by 1975, PNs were "de...

of my Model L w/PN-1. I am definitely not a good camera person, but you can hear my vacuum running and the sound of my PN-1.

    did the late electrolux af....

Late AF PN The Elux Model AF, in 1959, was offered with an optional power nozzle, as it had a power nozzle outlet on the top center of the machine, to the left of the chrome trim. The first Elux PN-1 was white with beige trim. It was only sold for one year as a distinct accessory for the AF...

    Behold! My New PN-1!

I received this Electrolux PN-1 today in the mail. It is an eBay find, and it is in terrific shape for its age. I hooked it up to my Model L to give it a "test drive", and it works perfectly! Electrolux PNs are rather noisy, though...in fact, the sound of this drowns out the sound of the...

    Refurbished Model L...Voila!

Interesting Hi guys and gals, I suppose I should divulge the real story behind this Electrolux Model L vacuum cleaner. As a recently joined member of this forum, I didn't want to seem like a crazy person and pour my heart out before you all got to know me. Ok...this particular Model L here I...

    Refurbished Model L...Voila!

Here's a photo of the Model L that I refurbished with a complete set of attachments. All in all, it cost me about $35.00 including shipping to fix this machine up (purchasing a new hose, dusting brush, and crevice tool.) I posted a picture of it before I cleaned it up a few weeks back. The...

Okay, so now I need a Model L Motor...

Hope This Helps: I found this listing on eBay. I think the seller might be a member of this forum, although I don't know his/her handle on here. I find it strange that the vac repairman is saying that the motor is "dead". If the motor had visible damage caused by, say, overheating due to...

    Help!

This is What I Was Sent Here is a picture of the non-electric hose I was sent for the Model L. The two arrows point to metal tabs that only allow the hose to be inserted into a 1205 or newer machine. The attachment for the L does not have those tabs. This hose was advertised as being compatible...

    Help!

Yes Yes, I would like a hose with a curved wand. (The hose I want is a non-electric one as well). :-)
