    Electrolux Model S on eBay

Congrats! Congratulations on scoring this rare Lux. It will be nice to see it after its restoration, especially since you have the original hose and other attachments!

    Golden J Power Nozzle Question

I Remember: when I first took my PN-2 apart to change the brushroll I had the SAME issue trying to remove the shoe from the bottom of the PN. If you push back on the shoe (toward the wheels) while lifting it up, it should come out easily.

    Wheel Replacement on Vintage Electroluxes

I thank you all... for responding to my question. @ tjb, where in New Jersey is Scotch Plains? I can actually be in New Jersey by car in about 45 minutes (after driving over Staten Island if I'm heading south...or, the G.W. Bridge, if I'm going to north/central Jersey). It's true...a lot of...

    Electrolux model G

Re: The Electrical Smell I know exactly the smell you are talking about, Brian. (BTW, my name is Brian also). It's not so much an electrical smell as it is an odor that emanates from a machine that hasn't been run very much for many years. My Model G gave off an "electrical" sort of smell...

    Electrolux Model S on eBay

To further elaborate on Charles' comments re the Model T What I have been told is that the Model T was introduced to compete with another "thrift" model that was being manufactured by another company at the same time in 1956. Also, I've been told that the Model T provided a way for Electrolux...

    LUX PN 2

That looks like the "jumper cord" The cord in the link you posted looks like the one that will connect to the sheath, then connect to the suction end of your hose.

    Wheel Replacement on Vintage Electroluxes

The reason I asked... is because I JUST noticed (after having had my "new" Model G for several days) that one of the front wheels is cracked slightly underneath. Whether it happened during shipping or it was pre-existing is unbeknownst to me. I have Krazy Glued the crack in the wheel, and...

    Wheel Replacement on Vintage Electroluxes

I'm just curious if any of you have ever replaced a front (suction end) wheel on an Electrolux Model G. It seems as though the wheels (with the chrome "hubcaps" removed) look just like the back wheels (blower end) on a Model L, and attach the same way. There is (what looks like) a...

    Christmas at the Jacob residence:

Agreed... I am still "slapping myself" over this acquisition...I can hardly believe that I own it! Charles, as you once said of the mint condition Model 30 you found at a thrift shop, "A thing of beauty is a joy forever." Indeed, it's so true! I have to agree that this machine is the best...

    Best Decade for Vacuums

1960s and 1970s I think the best decade for vacuums was the 1960s and the 1970s. Many machines made during those two decades were not only innovative, but also very attractive and sturdily built. To quote Kevin: I think a lot of older LUX's were traded for newer, just over the leaking/frayed...

    Christmas at the Jacob residence:

@ Charles: This machine is so beautiful that I can't stop staring at it. It also SOUNDS lovely...it's so whisper-quiet; really, all you hear is the airflow and VERY LITTLE motor whine. I love my other Luxes but this one takes my breath away! I'm so glad I finally found one in superb condition.

    Vintage Vacuums do work.

Vintage Machines ARE better... As an almost exclusive vintage Electrolux fan, I swear that the old machines outclean the newer ones. When I brought my first vintage Electrolux into my apartment last summer (a tan Model L...with NO power nozzle, mind you...) I filled up a vacuum bag within...

    Today's New VACquisition...

This machine... is truly a joy to vacuum with. The PN-4 is so easy to pass over the carpet. The hose that it came with does leak, but, fortunately, I already had a vinyl hose on hand to use in its place. You can tell by looking at the PN-4's underside that it was designed for shag (deep...

    Today's New VACquisition...

Behold the lovely Electrolux Super J which arrived on my doorstep this afternoon, from Capital Vacuums in Albany, New York. This came complete with original hose and PN-4 with a brand new brushroll installed. The machine also comes with a one-year motor warranty on both the vacuum and the...

    Electrolux Hose Restoration...Help Needed

Hello all, I know that recently (within the last few months) someone posted about restoring Electrolux saran hoses to air-tight condition through various methods. I have two beautiful hoses that I would like to have restored--one is from a Super J which I just acquired, and the other is from a...

    Electrolux 1205

Re: The 1205 [More Info]: The 1205 was always turquoise in color. In 1972, the only appearance detail which changed was the fact that the body, rather than being smooth metal, became a sort of "textured" metal which continued to be used on all the rest of the metal square tank models made by...

    Electrolux 1205

Re: the 1205 I would say that any "iteration" of the 1205 is a good one. In 1968, when the 1205 FIRST came out, it was still a few months before the Consolidated Foods takeover. It had the 535 watt Model G motor, and it came with a pigtail connector for the power nozzle (before the...

    Electrolux Model L User's Manual

I just uploaded the complete user's manual for the Electrolux Model L. It is visible in my album if anyone would like to check it out. Fred, if you happen to read this, would you mind posting the manual in the User's Manual section? I wasn't sure whether or not I could add those photos to...
