    XXX motor...

Try... tilting the motor. I had some difficulty getting the new motor into my Model 30, and I found that if I angled it slightly, that piece (bracket) you're mentioning will clear the motor mount. Or, try turning the motor in place and then try to pull it out. Let me know what happens!

    lewyt?

My apologies to super-sweeper! @ super-sweeper: It was "I" who posted about the Lewyt, and yes, I still would like to send it to you if you would like to have it, for only the reimbursement of shipping. Would you please drop me an e-mail at [email protected]? We can discuss the...

    XXX motor...

Interesting that You Ask This: because I just took a motor out of a Model 30 myself last week. If the motor hasn't been taken out in a long time, you've really got to give it a good yank to get it out. In my Model 30, the nuts were almost frozen into place...I actually broke a pair of pliers...

    "The Vacuum Cleaner Parking Lot"

and @ Kevin (Real1)... The Electrolux Model G vacuum cleaner is really beyond words to describe how lovely it is. It's a breathtaking machine...it's so whisper-quiet when running, it has such powerful suction, it has a great aesthetic and is easy on the eyes--it's just an overall delight to...

    "The Vacuum Cleaner Parking Lot"

And here's a video of the Model 30 running... with the newly installed motor. The old motor was totally worn down, and not even rebuildable.

    "The Vacuum Cleaner Parking Lot"

Here's a photo of what my mother calls the "Vacuum Cleaner Parking Lot", with a newly refurbished addition--a Model XXX, in which I've just installed a new motor (and it now purrs like a 'lil kitty cat).

Nice vintage vacuum for everyday use

You Can't Beat an Old Lux: These machines are workhorses and, to this day, can be repaired very easily with the abundance of available replacement parts out there. This is a pic of a Model 1205:

Can anyone identify the newest additions? =)

    Electrolux model #1205 Armature

I think: it depends on what vintage the 1205 is. There were two iterations of it--I think the early 1205 had the same motor as the Model G, but the late 1205 had a different, more powerful motor. My guess is that if the 1205 in question uses a 535 watt motor and is from 1968-1970, the...

What is the most amount you've spent on a vintage vac?

The Most I've Spent on a Vintage Vac: Was $177.50 in an eBay bidding war. This was for my turquoise Model G with all original attachments and in near-mint condition. Fortunately, it was a vacuum shop that was auctioning it, so it has a one year motor warranty on it.

Lewyt Model 55 Up For Grabs...

LOL So, Dave, did you hear the trappings of a New York accent in my commentary? LOL. That vacuum was given to me by a close friend, to whom it belonged to his great-grandmother. I gave a very matter-of-fact commentary in the video...no frills attached. ;-)

In Need of Some Advice Re: Lux Model XXX Motor

@ David: I'm not sure if greasing the bearings is going to help...which is my concern. I know that the Model XXX rivals the Model G as far as being "whisper-quiet"...but this thing (before I dissected it like a fetal pig) sounded like a vacuum that had smoked about three million cigarettes in...

In Need of Some Advice Re: Lux Model XXX Motor

Hello Fellow Vacuumlanders: Recently, I acquired an Electrolux Model XXX that appears to be in pretty nice shape cosmetically. It came with the original hose and all the attachments, sans the sprayer and vaporizer. Unfortunately, I didn't have the opportunity to test it before it was given...

Canadian Luxes: I've always thought the Model 88 was a really cool-looking machine. Congrats Brad!

    Lux Collection to Date

Thanks! Agreed, a 1205 would "round out" the collection (so would a bronze G)...although I haven't yet found just "the right" one(s). I have two saran hoses that would match the 1205 perfectly, but they need to be "re-sealed" so as to be airtight once again. The white L is the newest addition...

    Lux Collection to Date

Hey All, I thought I'd share a photo I took earlier of my Lux collection. I only began collecting in September of last year. I did have a Diamond Jubilee with its matching power nozzle, but I gave it to my mother who fell in love with the power nozzle. The first machine I acquired was the...

Lewyt Model 55 Up For Grabs...

Hey Guys, I have a Lewyt Model 55 (mfg. June 1952) that was given to me that I don't have room for. I am offering it to anyone who might be interested in it for merely the cost of shipping. Condition is fair, suction is good. I've uploaded a video of it operating on YouTube, demonstrating...
