New central Vac Riccar vs Vacuflo

Don't put your hand anywhere near the end of the hose you might get sucked in! 😁

Tacony Tandem Air Suction Not Too Great

A central vac with over 1000 airwatts and 200 CFM will match a Kirby. I've seen it with my own eyes as I own both. 😊

Tacony Tandem Air Suction Not Too Great

I'm glad to see the Nilfisk comes close to the Kirby 😊 I would like to see the Volt in action.

Tacony Tandem Air Suction Not Too Great

Good points Rob. I would still like to see a canister/cylinder cleaner that can match the performance of the Kirby. My MD central vac might well do. It's has very high suction and airflow. I can feel it pulling the dirt up deep down into the carpet pile. I use it with a Sebo ET1 which is a...

Tacony Tandem Air Suction Not Too Great

I agree with you Rob. I think it's to do with getting a balance between the direct air and clean air motor. It's a good design but personally I'd still prefer a single motor. The direct air Riccar canister PN that will be available soon does interest me a lot. I will be interested to see how...

    Canisters that Agitate

Yes Wessel Week PNs agitate very well. The Miele 228 is made by Wessel Werk I think I'm not sure who makes the 236 but they both agitate very well. I've seen videos of the Riccar PN and that seems to agitate even better than the Mieles. And yes you can get good agitation from a canister PN.

Or you could use an upright for deep cleaning carpet such as a Kirby or Royal and a canister for all other cleaning. Makes a good combo.

    Canisters that Agitate

I thought the brushroll vibrates the carpet which makes the dirt bounce out of the carpet. With good agitation you can see this happening ahead of the floor nozzle. Canisters such as the Riccar Immaculate hae great agitation.

How Hard Is It To Push A Vacuum

Yes would be interesting. Having owned all 3 I'd say the Felix and the X series are quite easy to push, the Felix is the easiest to manoeuvre with its swivel steering the Miele U1 does feel rather heavy weighing around 20 lbs. I do find the bagless cleaners I've owned to be the easiest to push...

But I know prefer my central vac to portable vacs. I couldn't be more pleased with my MD Flo master 😀

How Hard Is It To Push A Vacuum

The Kirby with its tech drive is easy to push but the Dyson DC41 or DC65 in the US is easier to manoeuvre around obstacles as is the Shark powered lift away as they both have swivel steering. The Sebo Felix is another that's easy to push and manoeuvre.

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

Maybe I'm the odd one out but I use the speed control when vacuuming delicates, lamp shades, curtains etc and I turn it up to full on hardfloor. Adding more electronics might make it more likely to fail but I've owned a Miele and Sebo for many years without any problems 😀

Changes I Would Make to my Maytag 1200

I like the swivel action on the Dyson and the shark. It makes the cleaner easier to manoeuvre. I also find speed control on my Miele C3 and Sebo E3 Premium very useful. I'd prefer it to suction control valve on the handle.

Might as well build a new vacuum cleaner 😁

    Watts vs. Amps

And I agree. Manufacturers should be forced to provide the CFM at the end of the hose or it could be part of the EU test over here.
