calling all late 1970's kenmore powermate collectors, belt/ brushroll question!

Hi Will.    Sadly I don't know much about any of the parts.  I have just always liked the model and have always wanted that model.  I can't answer any questions about the brushes or belts.  I am pretty sure that you can still get the belts and bags yet.  I have seen the models numbers at...

calling all late 1970's kenmore powermate collectors, belt/ brushroll question!

Wow that's wild. It's taken about exactly two years for that bad boy to resurface.  Two years ago I bid on this vacuum on Ebay.  This is exactly the model I want and have been looking for.  Bill out bid me and I changed my mind because it's missing the crevice tool, and the hood does not stay...

    My favorite. My Rainbow.

I've talked about it every week but I've never actually posted pictures of it.  I use it more than my Kirby (actually I'm not even using the Kirby.  My landlords are for their business). But I used it today and beat the hell out of my apartment and used every attachment that you will see in the...

What is the quietest vacuum cleaner of all time, and what is the noisiest? "Discuss."

I will maybe get a couple of strange looks for this but... What about a central cleaning system. I think maybe it's split. Away from the main unit on the floor they are very quiet. All you hear is the suction and maybe a power nozzle if you have one. But the system is somewhat loud unless...

    BEST cleaning vacuum?

So what would you recomend to a person who... Doesn't have the money to go out and purchase a Rainbow, Kirby, Aires, or some big name door to door vacuum but still wants a great machine that is going to make sure that it works well for what they want? Dyson would I think be one name brand even...

It was a Kirby kind of day.

Rest assured that next month when I do my holiday cleaning I will use my Rainbow.  In all honesty I think the Rainbow is in general easier to use.

It was a Kirby kind of day.

I don't have the HEPA filter on the back of mine. My Rainbow is an old D4C from the 80's. It came with the external long cord for the power head that is strapped to the hose. I still use it like that. LOL All the same I think it has a great air flow and maybe I'm wrong when I say it was...

It was a Kirby kind of day.

The Kirby is a good rotation vacuum. Something to just get out every once in a while. I love my Rainbow and I will always use it. I do like the way my air smells when I use the Rainbow. I'm just not a big fan of uprights. I have using my Rainbow down to a Science. When I lived in my house I...

It was a Kirby kind of day.

But I have to say this. My cat and dog like my Rainbow more than the Kirby. Just for that I will use my Rainbow more. LOL

It was a Kirby kind of day.

And in answer to your other question I did all that back in July.

It was a Kirby kind of day.

With my Rainbow I change the belt every six to eight months.  The big thing that I don't like about the Kirby is it doesn't fit under my bed, couch, or the legs of my end tables.  I have to use the floor brush for that.  So then the carpet does not get the use of the carpet brush.  For that...

It was a Kirby kind of day.

I hate admitting defeat. I have always been a canister person and I have always been a Rainbow and old Kenmore person but I have to admit that my Kirby (Wow I can't believe I'm about to throw my Rainbow under the buss) beat my Rainbow. This picture is everything I have used today. I don't...

Maytag Vacuum Cleaners made in USA

I actually knew about this a couple weeks ago.  I had lunch with a friend who works at Whirlpool and she was saying that Maytag was getting ready for the new line. She wasn't sure if Whirlpool was going to carry the name or a line of vacuums but it maybe possible.

    Good Price for a Rainbow?

It's actually a... D3 model. This was from the early 80's. It doesn't look like it has all the attachments. I think the opening bid is a little much because it's missing the general cleaning attachments. Good luck with bidding. From my own personal experience I have found that the opening...
