    Firestone

I was given an interesting machine this morning. A Firestone It will require some work but is in fairly good shape. I was wondering if anyone has any information about this one or what parts went with it? I'm pretty certain it was made by Douglas and I'm sure I've seen it under the...

    Spencer Central Vacuums

Hey Vincent - To my knowledge the central vacuum system in the Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon, Sk is still in use (at least it was about 15 years ago when I was last there.

    I've acquired an Apex

I usually just use another good vacuum (my central vac) and give the bag and filter a good vacuuming. It gets them pretty clean.

    ALMEGA Model 50

Similar to the Compact / Tri Star design but too many differences to have been made by them. Probably a Knock off (I doubt that Interstate would have had their stuff patented in Australia at that time so the basic design would have been fair game there)

    I've acquired an Apex

Hi Barry I've always like the design of those machines. Show your in laws the picture of the President I sent and ask them to check around for the kit. Pretty good chance all the rest of the parts are still sitting in the kit somewhere.

    I've acquired an Apex

That model would be from around 1950 as that is the year the ad below is from. Apex made machines under a number of different brand names as well as their own including President, Good Housekeeping, and Connor. It would have had a full set of parts in a kit like this one with the President...

Electrolux Canada Floor Polisher 2101 - How to Lubricate ?

What requires lube? The gears are on bushings that are packed with absorbent material. You soak that with 3 in `1 oil. Other than that the motor bearing dont usually get greased - lol just replaced.

Vacuum cleaner Singer ZA62 with accessories

WOW! Great find. I have seen a Singer made by Goblin before but not by Electrolux. That is very similar to the Volta U133 I just picked up (also made in England by Electrolux). I am missing the floor brush for it though (should have been the same one).

    1960's Shetland Lewyt Vacuums

Of course Americana could fit that one too - wish there was a way to tell.

    1960's Shetland Lewyt Vacuums

I have this one in both the delux version and the lower line version. I am thinking the colour would be Pistachio (or possibly Celery but I think that is a bit lighter). The pattern name I am not certain of but Daisies Espresso seems to fit

    1960's Shetland Lewyt Vacuums

Hi Paul - thanks that is quite interesting. It gives names to the colours and patterns. LOL now I just have to find the machines and figure out which is which. So far I only have two of the patterns (and three machines) This one is the lower line machine and would definitely be Snow Flake in...

Clone of Eureka Cleaner - Yelmo Vacuum in Argentina

Interesting piece. I would suspect that, as Eureka was owned by Electrolux AB (who had plants all over the place) it could have been produced by them as a contract machine for that company.

    AP200

Hey Guys - thank you very much. I try to keep the stuff as accurate as possible. I do occasionally come across anomalies though. Eg the 2nd style of ZB55 was made from 1951 to 53. But I came across a version of it that is dated 1955. In doing research I found they re released it that year...

    AP200

Here's a link to my page on the Canadian Electrolux's for your reference. I have all of them that they put out. I do have quite a few spare parts for the newer ones as well. Doug http://smithcollection.altervista.org/electrolux-canada.html

    Elux-O-Matic

Hi Gary: That is the first version of the model 88 (1957-63). If you look at the serial number it will give you the production date (The first digit is the year eg: 8 would be 1958). They were well before power nozzles came out in Canada but could be retrofitted with a new handle containing...

Do you know the Brand and year of this rocket shape vacuum cleaner ?

It might be another model by the same company. This ad looks like its older but the machines are very similar.

Electrolux E-2000 'Protection' light on, but vacuum still works?

Kirbylux - Ontario often got stuff the rest of the country didnt even see. As the factory was in Toronto / Mississauga branches were often used to test out the market. For example, in the west we only got the Grand Marquis and the Model 90 while Ontario also had an early version of the...

Electrolux E-2000 'Protection' light on, but vacuum still works?

Just to make that a bit clearer the 2100 was introduced in Canada in April of 1985 for the April Drive month (Electrolux did two big drive months a year - April and October. Normally that was when new models were introduced to boost sales)
