    Craptastic Plastic

Those... Actually aren't as bad as they could be. The designs are purchased from Fantom when they went bankrupt. Unfortunately they use the horrid filtered cyclonic system. They're quite rare from what I've seen.

    Alternative to Rainbow chemicals

Just a note... Smell the Fabuloso before you buy. Normally I'm not a person bothered by strongly scented products, but Fabuloso was noxiously overpowering to me. Your experience may differ though.

    Sanitaire shake out bags

Check... Woot.com if you'd like a decent low maintenance canister, they often have refurbished DC39s for sale. It would be the perfect machine for this type of job. Cleaning out my other machines is what mine has been used for about 99% of the time. If your DC25? (if I remember correctly) has...

    A Dyson that deep cleans!

Really...? Is this seriously what we've degraded to? Must we hear on every post that's not about a Kirby how much better they are??? It's great if you guys love your machines and they work well for you, but for the love of god stop. We don't need an interjection at every turn about how much...

Is this Dirt Devil Hand Vacuum from the 90s?

I wouldn't say really powerful. They're competent for what they are, and were just about as good as some of the best hand vacs at the time.

Is this Dirt Devil Hand Vacuum from the 90s?

I... Remember having one of these... Still regret returning it to this day, only difference between this and the one I had was a translucent red bin. I'd say these did come out at some point in the 90s, but I can tell you they were around in the early/mid 2000s.

    Poor filtration on new vacuums

The... UltraActive may be fine with the final HEPA, but the rest is fairly atrocious. I love mine, don't get me wrong, but in mine Capture managed to find it's way past the cyclone, pre-motor filter, the insulation around the motor, and into the HEPA in large quantities.

    The YouTube sensation ibaisaic

@alex and VL I think I get what you guys are talking about, but if we are indeed thinking of the same thing... It's just Rogers sense of humor and sarcasm flying right over both of your heads...

Cyclonic vacuums vs Filter in bin vacuums

I haven't had that issue with my Fury, or any of my Fantoms for that matter. The Thunder actually came before the Fury, the model line went like this. Original Fantom, Fantom Thunder (same as the original Fantom but with some cosmetic changes and a HEPA filter as standard), Fury, Lightning...

Cyclonic vacuums vs Filter in bin vacuums

I'm... Still amazed they decided to shut Fantom down and start making the Infinity and Shark Navigator machines under their respective names. I would've thought if you were gonna attempt to be the first real Dyson competitor in the US it'd be better to use an established brand like Fantom. The...

Cyclonic vacuums vs Filter in bin vacuums

I'd... Have to agree. The Fantom machines do seem to have a great balance with the dual cyclonic system they employ. The bin design in the Thunder, and similar shape in the Lightning and Cyclone XT do a great job at keeping larger things like pet hair compressed and moving instead of getting...

Cyclonic vacuums vs Filter in bin vacuums

IMO... The Dirt Devil F1 filter set up is actually one of the best I've seen. Due to the cone shape of the filter it does have a weak cyclonic action, spinning heavier dust and debris to the outside of the bin. For what it is it maintains suction incredibly well, better than some cheap...

Why don't more UK canisters have Power nozzles?

It's not, from the research I've done it appears at the very least Sweden is the same way. I'm guessing there are more than just those two.

Why don't more UK canisters have Power nozzles?

I get that they're environmentally friendly, and that their homes to start are much better insulated. But what exactly does that have to do with their view of carpet as unsanitary? Even on the environmental side of things, unless you're talking cleaning hard floors with a Floormate vs cleaning a...

Why don't more UK canisters have Power nozzles?

That's exactly why I started keeping a robotic vacuum to run every day. My home is, as one person said "striped". It goes hard floor, carpet, hard floor, carpet, hard floor. From front to back, when the cats start shedding there are tumbleweeds of cat hair rolling across the hard floors if they...

Why don't more UK canisters have Power nozzles?

Yeah, I don't disagree with that. There are certainly areas where carpeting just does NOT belong. But for most living areas it's fine.

Why don't more UK canisters have Power nozzles?

I've... Only ever seen one home with carpet in both the bathrooms and kitchen, it's my grandparents home. Commercial grade in the kitchen (still idiotic), and the bathrooms have tile around the bath and toilet, the rest is carpet. I don't really get the unhygienic thing. W2W will act as an...
