I'd... Bet money the fan is broken. At least that's what it sounds like to me. It's easy to check, take the top cover off, remove the motor mounts (two plastic brackets left and right with two screws each), and lift the machine off the base, then you'll be able to see directly into the fan chamber.

Stain-X... Makes a polish specifically for the rubber and plastic components on vacuums. It works amazingly on cloudy bins as well as scratched and dull plastic. It'll only be temporary, and how well it works depends on the wear of the plastic, but you should see a large improvement with it...

Yes... I've tried the turbo nozzle... While decent for it's class and only behind a Miele head and a Turbo Cat, they're still far behind the performance of any PN on anything other than commercial carpeting. Along with more complicated than either of the other options due to the "bare floor"...

Kenkart... GoVacuum sells them, as well as some sellers on Amazon. They aren't as cheap/as good a value here as they are in the UK I'm guessing due to import costs. But they're still amazing little machines...

I'd... Bet Consumer Reports left the machine on the Automatic mode instead of having the suction all the way up compared to the other models... Their testing is horrible, why people here continue to use/pay attention them is beyond me. They've already been sued twice over falsifying results...

Might wanna try.... Fresh Wave Pearls, we have these at work. They get put in the bench vacs to keep the smells at bay from all the horrid dirt we pull from other machines. We also have customers that swear by them and that haven't had luck with anything else...

Don't... Just don't. The RD belt equipped Sanitaires and Eurekas are worse with belts than this Hoover. On medium pile dense carpeting in my home, with the height set correctly my belts are stretching after about 4 hours of use. That equates to about 4 weekly cleanings out of a belt for me.

I've never come across them in my searches over the years. I do have the commercial spots themselves for the Infinity vacuums, although I'm not sure if those actually had an infomercial.
