    Miele C2 vs. C3 airflow

Apples and oranges This is an interesting point about variance in post-motor filters. Miele has many combinations of post-motor filters, much less all the different kit that comes out of the machine, across all lines, I think one has to be very specific when making pseudo-scientific...

    More airflow tests.

Is your electric wand the latest... SET 220? My SET 220 diameter looks the same as the non-electric, but perfectly smooth inside whereas the non-electric has all kinds of notching for the telescoping. The SET 220 has a different mechanical design to address which leaves perfectly smooth and...

    More airflow tests.

C2 v C3... just guessing C2 shorter hose and non-electric hose/wand and different nozzle could all impact the results.

Decision time on Miele - Need some help

Interesting. It seems the Brilliant does not have the up and down suction power buttons on the console, so may not be able to use any other hose/handle than what comes with the Brilliant. Based on some unboxing videos I've seen it looks like the console power button will always move the...

    The wife just doesn't understand...

Jumby75, yes, I'm almost certain a non-electric hose can be added to Marin/Brilliant... do either/both of those have the little electric socket cover? The Alize does and can easily be popped out and there is a little spot within the accessories compartment to store it. Nice touch. The machine...

    Restoring plastic swivel bits

Many plastic dusting brushes have swivel functionality, but over time with wear the swivel action can become loose beyond appropriate functionality. I did some You Tube homework and came across a recommendation how to restore loose swivel action on action figures' arms and legs. The...

    The wife just doesn't understand...

BTW, Miele USA website has select C1 and C2 cannisters on sale for 20% off on there website currently. I had heard rumors they intended to minimize their lower end offering, at least in the US. Maybe they are clearing stuff out.

    The wife just doesn't understand...

Also forgot to mention the Alize has 'standby' in the docking slot, like the Brilliant. The other thing I just realized about the Brilliant is one does not actually turn the vacuum on and off from the handle... that must still be done from the foot pedal. One can only put the machine in...

    The wife just doesn't understand...

What's wrong with this picture? Correct, nothing. I have my ideal Miele C3 Alize setup now. The Airteq tool for floors and throw rugs + Electro hoze/wand and SEB236 for carpets at a 22% discount vs. the Brilliant. I have the non-electric hose/wand for the large duster, long crevice tool...

The WORST vacuum cleaners, Ever made. In History.

I read a paper that the Dyson hand driers in public bathrooms massively circulate germs because what is blown off is contained in the hand drying trough and just recirculates and gets added to with each new set of hands.

Miele C3 Marin - First Impressions

Yes, in my wand at the bottom there is a square forward facing cut out in the plastic connector. Inside the PN tube forward facing is a square nub that can be retracted by the foot lever. They fit perfectly tight in sync and locked when connected.

Miele C3 Marin - First Impressions

Sorry to hear about the wand connector issue. That is not right and there should be next to no play. I push my powerhead foot lever down when connecting and it is a very snug connection. I assume this was a new purchase and bought under warranty? Have you discussed with the vendor that sold...

    New Dyson Light Ball

I'm not some environmentalist sustainability guy but can appreciate engineering in a vacuum that can make it last for years and years and years. Most bagless vacuums die after a couple years, while is acceptable to many, is no engineering feat. God forbid a bagless does live for years and...

Question about Miele C3 basic dual nozzle? What to answer.

The delicate rug icon is to the left of the ear icon. Ask her what suction setting she used... Delicate is even left of that. Blame her for not reading the directions properly. She clearly underestimated her manly vacuum.

Bissell Lift-Off Deep Cleaner - Tank yellowing

I wonder if it is like the oxidation that occurs to acrylic car headlights over time turning them yellow and cloudy? Maybe the various compounds to 'refresh' those headlights would work here?

Cleaning heads and is a Persian rug a Persian rug a Persian rug

I've now confirmed my nice rug is a 'Sino-Persian' rug that is 'hand-tufted' with wool and silk. I'm wondering if the best course is to use my Miele SEB236 with roller turned off, high suction, but height set high enough so not too difficult to push? Option B, use suction head and reduce...
