    Picking up a nice Royal

I responded to a Craigslist ad the other day for this very nice Royal. At $45 I couldn't pass it up. I've been looking for a Royal from the early 2000s with the extra soft outer bag for quite some time now, so I was very excited when I saw this! It's a 7.5 amp -- model 2025 from 2000. It...

    Opinions on Oreck XL's

The 2200 in the previous picture has been the entry model for the past few years now. Big Lots had them for around $100 about four years ago. I believe you can still get them on Amazon for around $199.. Chase

How many 1990's Dirt Devils have you seen in one place?

wow... This is an old post! Most of these are gone now, but have been replaced by a few different ones. I'll try to get an updated photo within the next few days! Is there a market for these anymore? I wouldn't mind letting some go...

Rainbow E Series blowing out water

Finally, some good news!!! I received a text from the distributor yesterday telling me that he had the new motor and he would have it done that night. I was still a little skeptical, but he had it ready for me as soon as today. I was still concerned even after receiving it, he dropped it off at...

Rainbow E Series blowing out water

STILL waiting... I told him that if it wasn't fixed two weeks ago that I was just going to cut my losses and get it back. He replied the next day saying it was all of a sudden covered by the warranty and he was going to get a new motor. One week passed and he said he was learning the online...

In search of a Eureka/Wards Hose

Hi all, I was hoping someone could help me locate an electric hose for this Wards canister. Please shoot me an email if you think you might have what I'm looking for and we can work out a price. I'm also willing to work out a trade if you're looking for something specific as well. Thanks...

What can you detectives see from this?

I would say it's most likely a Sharp Twin Energy, especially given the yellow sticker. I believe all of the Sharps came with the big yellow sticker on the bag cover that explained all of the features. From the looks of it (very hard to see though) it could possibly be a big wheel model? Hope...

Rainbow E Series blowing out water

I just got in contact with the dealer the other day, he said he has been speaking with another dealer and they're trying to figure it out. He says that they may have found the issue and he's hoping to have it back to me working by the beginning of this week!

Have you seen the new Filter Queen website?

I believe That the Empress is still being sold, however, I think that they switched over to the new style hose and power nozzle. I've seen a few on the local Craigslist and at the store with them. Chase

    Montgomery Wards Uprights

Finally, my favorite This one is my favorite out of the bunch, I couldn't wait to get home and clean this one up. It was pretty rough when I found it, pictured in the first photo I'm going to post of it. The bottom is dated 1973. The brush roll was seized and was covered in hair and thread...

    Montgomery Wards Uprights

Next up, a two speed cordaway model. I'm unsure of the year, I can't make out Eureka's dating mechanism on this one. It does run, but it is very rough. There's a hole in the plastic part that connects the bag to the base, and there are also several holes in the bag. It's going to take some time...

    Montgomery Wards Uprights

First up, a model from 1973. I haven't had a chance to give this one an overall yet, but it does run pretty well. It would not power on when I found it, but the problem was just where the cord goes into the back of the handle under the grip, it was cut and taped and it was not a quality job at...

    Montgomery Wards Uprights

I recently found these three Wards uprights over the past few months. I don't start work until noon on most days so that allows me to hit the local estate sales on the weekends (what most young adults use their time to sleep in for, of course). In any event, it's allowed me to stumble across...

Rainbow E Series blowing out water

Well, The Rainbow distributor stopped by this morning. After seeing that I was using cold water, not overfilling the pan, and the separator was in perfect condition he said that he has never seen an e2 spit water out of the exhaust. He said that he remembers the lady that I got it from and...
