Newer Lux Legacy not a sealed system

I didn't think any of their models except for the Lux Platinum were sealed systems. If you use HEPA bags then it shouldn't be a big deal.

A Tier and Special tier vacuum brands

It wouldn't matter if a Kirby could survive a nuclear blast or suck up prehistoric remains from beneath your home's foundation. It just isn't appealing at all to the average consumer. If it was it wouldn't need a high pressure sales pitch. With my Miele Marin I can go from carpets to a dusting...

    Kirby shampooer vs rainbow/extraction.

Mix up the cleaning solution in a garden sprayer and the spray the carpets evenly with it. Brush it in. Then use the Rainbow with just clean water in the solution tank to extract it. This will ensure no soap is left in your carpet and is the way professional carpet cleaners do the job.

    Any Aerus News?

Yes they need to get the Electrolux name back on the vacuums. That is the dumbest thing they could have done. They can keep Aerus on the other products.

Vacuum cleaner pick up tests on carpet

ralph123 But in the video he addresses the concerns you brought up. He said ideally you would need multiple models of the same machine to get truly accurate representations. He wasn't trying to pull a fast one on any of us. And he purposely used a lower power vacuum with no rotating brush and...

What vacuums do/did your parents or grandparents use?

My great grandmother had an Electrolux Silverado and then an Electrolux 6500. My dad's parent's had a Eureka canister with power nozzle. When my grandmother died my grandfather remarried and his new wife had some kind of Kirby. But he still used the Eureka canister when he vacuumed. My...

Thanks for the very detailed response vacman1961!

    Kenmore Central Vacuums

I've always been fascinated with the Kenmore central vacuums, or rather "built-in vacuum" as Sears liked to call it. I have a few questions though if anyone is able to shed some light on them. Who made the power units for Kenmore? Who made the pipes, fitting, and hose for Kenmore? From what...

    Aerus Website

gregvacs28 A cloth HEPA bag has better airflow than paper bags. It would also keep the HEPA filter clean longer.

    Aerus Website

Yeah I really don't know why Aerus thinks they need to offer a central vacuum. There are too many better choices. If I were Aerus I would either have MD or Vacuflo make a unit for me or just drop it. And I agree that a wire reinforced central vac hose is unheard of these days. Get a kit from...

Kirby Shampooer leaving rugs and carpet rough/flat

The Kirby thing seems like more trouble than it's worth unless the carpet is already clean and you just want to fluff it up. But it's still going to leave a residue on your carpet. But you can have the same issue with an extractor. Most people don't rinse their carpet with clean water after...

What will the CCP Virus mean for Kirby?

If a restaurant sees an item on the menu is selling poorly then they will remove that item. Of course they wouldn't shut down the whole restaurant. Just like Berkshire Hathaway would eliminate the Kirby product from Scott and Fetzer if it's underperforming.

What will the CCP Virus mean for Kirby?

bisonian People like Warren Buffett also know when to cut their losses. Not everything can be saved or turned around and these people are quick to stop the bleeding.

    Royal Vacuum Company

That's too bad. I've never used one but heard they cleaned as good or better than a Kirby and were much lighter and easier to use.

What will the CCP Virus mean for Kirby?

That's a very good point. I could see Rainbow altering their sales strategy. They are still innovating their vacuums and other products. Kirby seems way too stubborn. They are still selling a design that is 30 years old. And Kirby sales associates have been in the news a lot over the past...

    New Aerus pricing question

The Aerus Legacy is a nice vacuum. But I couldn't spend $1800 on a vacuum that doesn't even have a HEPA filter. That's just me though.

    Miele accessories questions

I love my Miele C3 Marin. But is it possible to use the HEB 160 with it? I would really prefer using an electric tool than air driven one.

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

They need to move into online sales and adjust their prices accordingly. They should follow Miele's pricing as an example. The Classic is a good vacuum but not for $1,000+. It should be in the $400-500 range. It's a reliable no frills machine but they refuse to even put a HEPA filter on it...

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

Aerus needs to put HEPA filtration and bags on both the Classic and Legacy. Any vacuum in that price range should have that.

    So, what's up with Aerus/Electrolux?

I wouldn't want to live in a home with only a robot vacuum. I can't imagine how filthy their carpets must be. Not to mention everything above floor that they can't even touch. People are so lazy now.
