    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

I have a lady who cleans for me, she uses a Numatic (she has several James, Henry, and Hetty and brings with her whatever one is working - usually the Hetty). I like Numatic. As for an upright, I'd need to try what was currently on sale. I have always had a great like of Panasonic.

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

I don't like the computerised height adjuster at all, it really is personal. I don't like the small wheels on the back as it can make the cleaner hard to push and move. I don't like the hose arrangement nor do I like the way the box connects to the base as I know it can cause issues with the...

    Hoover TURBOBOOST U2570 (december 1988)

The reason for the handle release pedal being how it is, is because the wheel to the side of it has worn right through the chassis and into the pedal. This was an early problem with Turbopower cleaners and one which was easily resolved long before this cleaner went into production. A thin...

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

I have to say that compared to what they were, the Sebo quality has declined over the years. Insatiable of course when the price tag has dropped too. I don't deny and never have denied that Sebo are one of the best built cleaners on the market. But I don't like them much.

    Which Vacuum....?

Well unless I read it wrong, a DC07 was not in the list of possibilities of cleaners availiable to the person who asked the question.

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

I thought so. You can get that Purepower for £70. A Sebo X4 Eco would be £204. So for every one Sebo you could have three Purepower cleaners. As you mentioned how long the cleaner would last as a measure of what a cleaner will cost, the question is eally, the question is would you get the same...

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

"I wouldn't buy one. I'd rather pay more for something like a Sebo that's going to last and end up costing you a lot less in the long run." Do you mean not buying a Pure Power?

    Miele Eco Models

Like I said on another thread here, the floor of any space is potentially always going to be the dirtest part of the area. Because of this, the laboratory tests can say what they like, but for the man-on-the-street it will always come down to what looks clean, or at least looks clean enough...

does the uk care about deep cleaning? WHAT DO YOU THINK

That TV show is nothing but an attempt to get two people who bother suffer with the same illness, albeit at different ends of the scale, to make some cheap veiwing which benefits neither of them. OCD sufferers who have cleaning compulsions are in the minority when compared to the remainder of...

    Mieles made in China

Doing an online calculation, a £250 washing machine here would be $527 in Australia. I don't think there are many people here in the UK who would pay double that, so they'd struggle to sell here too, not just because of the country of origin, but because when people pay double the price, they...

Help to me to understand smaller...

Juniors I think the consumers of the day were happy enough with the size of a Junior, Alex, given the millions of Juniors & other cleaners of the same size that were sold over the years. If they weren't happy about the size, I guess they simply loved the colours.

does the uk care about deep cleaning? WHAT DO YOU THINK

At the end of the day we're talking about floors. Potentially always the dirtiest part of any environment. As long as dirt at floor level can stay at floor level and isn't raised, or equally we don't get down to meet it, all should be reasonably well. I care more about surfaces being clean than...

    Mieles made in China

How were consumers not given the choice? For years and years and years they could walk into a shop and decide how much they wanted to spend. Imported goods were often so much cheaper to buy.

    Mieles made in China

There would be nothing made in China if the consumers who bought it were willing to pay the cost of having it built in Europe. Meile may command a "premium price" in comparison to their competition, but it's still a price we could only have dreamed of a few years ago.

    Mieles made in China

I was under the impression that Miele cleaners had been built there for some time, but I know not of why I thought that. Fact is, building anything in China does not mean cheap rubbish. There seems to be a real misunderstanding in this world that all China can do is make rubbish. No. The...

    Hoover Turpower 3 U2880-006

In the UK the 2880 was at the end of it's production by the last part of 1996, and this cleaner was sold by House of Fraser as a "January Sale" item in 1997, for almost half of it's original selling price. They were certianly a very well built cleaner.

    somebody really hates there henry

Thank you Turbo 500. Those cleaners I do remember. Delaney, Are you talking abou the Henry being around since the 80's ? The thing about the Henry is that it does something which the owner of it can make good use of. The bread and ice cream makers are a different matter.

    somebody really hates there henry

Henry is pretty much all that is needed to make a cansiter cleaner what it needs to be. It's lack of exciting bells and whistles is seemingly offset by his cheeky face. I remember when the original Henry cleaners came without cable winders and were just red, alongside the identical but with...

Hello again. It's George that wet-cleans, and as you say he has a built in tank to hold the cleaning water. You fill it from the tap.
