Some people should NOT be allowed to buy things

Sebo-fan, to continue with your excellent points, the brands are not 'also' out to make money, they are always out to make money, given they are providing goods via a private business and not offering a nationalised service. I think it is sometimes easy to forget that anyone in business exists...

Some people should NOT be allowed to buy things

Forget that last one - I have just been reading all about it on google. Says the are plans are not insurance and thus have no underwriter.

Some people should NOT be allowed to buy things

There speaks the voice of reason. I am confused by the original post, because it sounds like the customer is getting some sort of a repair in Currys on a ten year old cleaner. I am not sure how that works?

This certainly puts all that nonesense in France into persepctive.

what year did this come out

That's the older turbo brush if it had glides, and would have been supplied as a freebie with the Powa 4000. Only the 4100 had the turbo brush as part of the standard tool kit, and even then it was in place of a combination head. This, I always thought, was a bit odd because it meant the cleaner...

1975 Hoover Senior Ranger U4002 Restoration

Great job, but it looks luke you got the dirty water all over the wall tiles and grout! Easily done of course.

what year did this come out

The Vax 2000 came out about 1990 and the Powa 4000 wasn't far behind it. But then it was in production for a few years, I think up until 1995. I know the 2100 and 4100 were very much avaliable in 1995. This one on Ebay has the original type of hose handle. When the 8000 series upright came...

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

Well here's what I was thinking: put a 1967 Hoover Junior 1346 next to a 1987 U1104 and to the untrained eye they may be deemed the "same" in all but colour. Yet very few of the parts would be interchangeable between the cleaners, despite looking similar. The 1997 Purepower and the 2015...

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

It is interesting that you say succesful Alex, as there is no doubt the Purepower series have sold well, but that is probably down to the fact that for the last 15 years or so it's been just about the only style of bagged cleaner Hoover has made. Clearly it ticked enough boxes for both the...

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

Indeed so. They were much better built. And much more expensive. Today you can get two-and-a-half of these cleaners for the 1997 price.

    Numatic vacuums

It's the plain and boring that makes them the sucess.

    Hoover PurePower, what happened???

Furthermore, Alex, as I wrote in the earlier messages, not only did a base-model Purepower retail for £130 in 1997, that equated to £213 in todays money. So to get that same cleaner for £89, one would have to expect a huge drop in something somewhere.

    My twin motor Columbus find

Your mentioning of cleaners with two or more motors reminded me of this story. http://https//en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cutty_Sark#Conservation_and_fire

    You are a vacuum cleaner.

For many years I was a vacuum cleaner cleaner.

    Numatic vacuums

"I honestly think Numatic vacuums are boring as sin" I agree. I think that's why they are so succesful as it's a perfect match for a fairly boring job. Cleaning is damn hard work, and I beleive for many it's not especially interesting either. Because of that, you'd think that someone might...

    Delonghi Combi upright vacuum

They are an ordinary bagged upright vacuum cleaner, with rotating brush, and were nothign special. Although these cleaners were most popular in the late 1980's and early 1990's when they were sold under numerous names - most notably Philips and Delonghi- the cleaner was originally used by the...

    SEBO Attachment Adapter

On the Sebo upright x4 cleaner, the Numatic back-to-back adaptor will fit rather neatly into the hose cuff. This allows 32mm tools to then be used. The adaptor fits much less well into the main extention tube, and I have no idea if it works at all on cylinder models...
