    Eureka or Electrolux brush

That is a generic floor brush to fit a Hoover. Design was a common design in the late 60's to the 80's.

    identifying electrolux model

It sounds like a Silverado Special, not a Silverado DeLuxe, the Special has a slide switch, the Silverado DeLuxe has a rocker switch.

    Regina trivia...

I don't think Oreck ever bought Regina, I know at one point Electrolux USA bought out Regina, but I never heard about Oreck? I have a Brush N Beat upright and I believe it is one of the earlier models, it is alike a khaki-sage green color bag and hood, with a white color base. The machine is...

    Your best road-side find?

I was driving to pick up pizza with my 5 or 6 year old daughter at the time, this was about 17 years ago, and as we were driving, she said "Daddy, there was a vacuum in the garbage back there with a turquoise hose", I said to my self hmmm, turquoise hose, let me turn around, well it was a 1961...

New Member with lots of Kirby Questions!

Im not sure what machine is picture #3, but what ever machine it is has a bad safety switch, it looks like it is stuck in the high speed position which will cause premature carbon brush wear, premature belt wear, make the machine louder, make it harder to push, you should replace the speed switch.

    What on earth??!

Charlie, I was wondering the same thing until I realized that those round circular areas above the hose inlet and again in the back probably once housed a carrying handle. It definitely was home made, pretty innovative I might say. The machine and can was painted with hammertone gold paint. If...

    Riccar 2400 Canister - Whirlpool?

Yes, the Riccar 2400 and Simplicity 8100 were built by Whirlpool, before the Panasonic takeover, they were introduced shortly after Whirlpool stopped producing their Power Clean line of vacuum cleaners. The power nozzle on the Tacony twins was actually the identical power nozzle used on the...

New Pickup! Kenmore Sears Best 1978?

This machine is definitely a 1972 model, my neighbor had a 2297, which was the same machine, but the power mate did not have a headlight. The second digit in the 4 digit code designated the year, and the last 2 were the series, the higher the number the better the machine. The height adjustment...

    Electrolux Trivac with powernozzle

I also built one, inside the fan housing it is designed to have a female receptacle in there for a power nozzle. My Tri Vac is the Diamond Jubilee colored one and I used an Electrolux power nozzle that was on the Lux Lite 2 motor upright built by Regina. I will take a picture and post it.

New Old Stock 2006 Sanitaire SC886

I don't know why your under the impression that the new Sanitaire SC886 is different than the 9 year old one you bought, they still use the same motor, unlike the Perfect brand motor, it is still the same 7 AMP Eureka motor that they have been using since 1978. It sounds like your machine was...

    Sanitaire SC886 vs SC888

The SC888 has a Vibra Groomer 1 Brush Roll and a headlight, the SC886 has no headlight and has a Vibra Groomer 2 brush Roll. The VG1 is aluminum and has nicer bristles and beater bars and doesnt bend like the steel VG2.

    Super J felt washer - it's huge

Put about 5 drops of light turbine oil on the felt, the bronze bearing is considered an oil less bearing and it doesn't require much lubrication. I like turbine oil, it is very light and is what a lot of OEM manufactures suggest to use on oil less bronze bearings. Do a google search for zoom...

My parent's first vacuum was a Kirby 518, which I still have, I refurbished it some years back and it sits in the box, I took it to the 2014 100th Birthday Kirby convention and it won 1st prize for best rebuilt. I still have a few of my parent's old vacuums.

    TRYING TO REMOVE THIS

From the looks of it, it was changed once before, Hoover never used "Pop rivets" to hold on their wheels, they used solid rivets, being that these are Pop rivets, it is easy, just drill out the center of the rivet with a 1/8 drill bit until the head comes off, get a new wheel, an Electrolux...

    Electrolux PN 2 Motor Question

It sounds like the motor is starting to go bad, when it slows down toes the hood get very hot and do you smell a slight burning smell? PN2's and PN4's were notorious for bad motors. Also, if you look at the color of the field wires, they should be a reddish brown color, when they get old they...
