    Kirby Nozzle Gasket Adhesive

The adhesive that Kirby uses is a brown rubber cement, it used to be made by 3M, I forgot the Kirby part number, it was something like T110, it has been a while since I ordered it from them.

    Preco nozzle trivia

WOW, I love the blue one, I never seen a blue one in person, the one we had on our Black & Decker said Black & Decker on it, but it was white with a tan bottom. The first one that came with the house broke right away, the elbow was installed from the outside with a big nut around where it...

    Super J original hose

Yes, the way you can tell if it is the hose that came with your Super J is when you open the front door of the vacuum to change the bag, look at the color of the inside of the door, if it is aluminum colored it came with the white hose with blue and gold stripes, if it is gold colored the hose...

    Kirby Classic 3 safety switch

Karl, are you sure the leg of the hose is broken, on the Classic III the part that pushes the speed switch down is actually one of the legs that hod the hose onto the machine. You sort of have to put the plastic legs on the bar and slightly rotate the coupler to the right to depress the switch...

    Hoover Widepath Elite

I might have one of these but it is the solid tan color, its not transparent if you are interested in that? One of my daily drivers is one of these in black, it is the Turbo line, made just for vacuum stores, the machine is a beast, it really digs deep and lifts the nap.

Found a Super J in the basement

The PN2 power nozzle comes apart through the top. Remove the 2 screws, flip it back over and take the top cover off. there is a bluish green cover that covers the brush roll. If you want to take the steel plate off there is an area in the top that you can unsnap that tab. It is not removable...

Found a Super J in the basement

Nice find, this is an early Super J, it came out late in 1975, you can tell because it has the PN2 power nozzle instead of the rug saver PN4 that was introduced in 1976, also the earlier Super J models had a white hose, the same color that was on the Golden Jubilee. In late 1977 going into 1978...

    Cordless Powerhead

I just saw that Perfect, the company that makes the copy of the Electrolux is coming out with a cordless power nozzle. It is based on the Electrolux PN5 design, it has a big battery attached to the top, makes it kind of cumbersome, but I heard it runs for 50 minutes and will clean as well as the...

    Aerus Bissell?

I doubt it is an Aerus or even a ProTeam, it is most likely a Perfect brand vacuum manufactured in China by Nationwide, as most of their Perfect brand vacuums it is provably not built very well, they look good but that is about it.

    Electrolux Hose Question.

The hose that is pictured is a genuine hose made by Lawrence industries, they were the company that produced all the parts for Electrolux, at one time before the Aerus change over, Lawrence manufactured original parts in different colors to be sold through vacuum stores. I have a brand new 1205...

Odd Hoover Convertible Model 33 motor

When I had my Vac Shop, we used to chalk the commuter on all vacuum motors, especially after we changed the carbon brushes, We made a special top bearing plate that we used to chalk the motors. We took an old bearing plate and drilled a hole in it, removed the cooling fan from the motor and...

What comes closest today to a 1960 canister Electrolux?

After being in the floor care most of my life, I wold still recommend a new Aerus Electrolux, I would go with the Legacy, it is a fine machine, still built here in America, has good suction and is convenient to use. Second choice would be a Miele, they work well, just not as advanced as an Aerus...

I was wandering around eBay this afternoon and I came across a unique vacuum, it is a Airway signature series vacuum in really nice condition, as I was looking at the pictures, I noticed since it was a signature series machine, it had a signature tag on it with Tom Gasko's name on it. Does...

    Defender vacuum

I have a Defender Vacuum, I have the tank, the electric hose , dusting brush and crevice tool. The power nozzle was all broken so I didn't save it, the power nozzle actually was a white Douglas power nozzle. Make me an offer, I am willing to sell it. The pictures are when I first got it, since I...
