    Choices, what would you do???

Get a piece of 1/4" fish tank tubing, make it about an inch long, and slice it open and glue the sliced area on the metal "brake" on the arm.

My Electrolux Silverado has finally died perhaps.

The motor is easily removable, if you send it to me I can rebuild it for $50.00, or if you want I can sell you one that is already rebuilt for $75.00 with an exchange of your old motor. Private message me if your interested.

    Electrolux PN1 or PN2

I am a big fan of the PN1, the PN2 didn't really clean better, but I do like the fact that the PN2 stands by itself, has a nice metal hood, longer but softer bristles. The PN1 digs much better.

    What in the?

I believe this is a Canadian model. In 2014 when we were in Cleveland at the Kirby Convention we took a drive to the Filter Queen factory and they had a museum upstairs with all the models on display and I seem to remember seeing this one with the variable speed motor.

Need help identifying vacuum in Old House

Definitely a Shetland Lewyt from the early 60's, it was the lowest priced model they made, no suction control, no tool caddy, probably sold for $29.95.

    Kenmore Central Vacuums

The switch was on the adapter that connected the Power Mate to the Curved hose end. It was a black sliding switch, encased in a white metal box on the back of the adapter want, attached to it was a long white cord that got plugged into the wall. (Sorry for the poor images)

    Electrolux Silverado Model 1505

Keith, that is one beautiful Silverado, it is as close o new as your going to get. All Silverado's were called Silverado Deluxe. The reason why there is a difference in motors is that when the Diamond Jubilee came out it used the newer style motor, the one pictured on the left. As production was...

    Kirby Tradition Hose and bumper

DO NOT remove the rivets from the head on your Kirby. The bumper is designed to be installed and removed without damaging the original rivets. Just heat up the bumper a little with a hair dryer and it will pull right over the head of the rivet. When you get the new bumper soak it in hot water...

    Kenmore Central Vacuums

Everything on the earlier Kenmore systems was built by Whirlpool. The earlier systems used Whirlpool's own tubing and inlets. Because most Kenmore Central vacuums that were sold were sold either through the store or catalog they geared everything toward the do it yourselfer. Most of the...

    Vintage Central Vac Find

That was a nice find, it was one of the earlier VacuFlo unit's, probably the first unit when the name of the company was changed from FloLite to VacuFlo. The tubing could have been bakelite or some used metal. The bakelite tubing was very brittle and also very flammable, which I was told that...

    Heritage fan

Here is a little bit of information about the Tradition. The earlier Traditions had a metal fan and also if you read the instruction book it showed how to use the Crystalator. After they changed to Lexan fans, the instruction book no longer showed how to use the Crystalator, it was now called an...

    Model xxx sucks very weak

Check the hose at the front of the vacuum, also, there is a filter in the back that could be clogged, remove the 2 thumb screws and there is a felt filter in there.
