    Updated Collection Photos

Thank You! Would you believe it was $5 in the basement of a vac shop? It's in close to mint condition, but I have no idea if it runs. I've had it for a while. I have neither the battery nor a charger.

Thank You! I am very proud of my vintage vacuums. The Lewyt cost me $40 and the Bradford cost me $25.

    Updated Collection Photos

It's been almost a year since I took the last photo. They are all together now in the basement after a ton of work to get them down there. I have about seventy machines now, down from 130 at the collection's peak. I'm mainly into high end/vintage canisters now.

    Why Used Vacuums Won't Sell

It depends. I've sold over one hundred vacuum cleaners through craigslist since 2011. With four and a half years of experience, here is what i've learned: -People haggle. Don't expect to sell it for your original asking price. -Bagless is king. It doesn't matter how old it is. Most people...

Dog stink.... Is close to impossible to get out. The only way that might get rid of it is to tear it down completely and wash/sanitize everything. The motor too. Once that smell is in the motor... good luck trying to get it out.

Bagless.. And those aren't GOOD bagless machines. Very dirty to empty. The 1934A Eureka is nice and light, but very basic.

    New Consumer Reports ratings (online)

I didn't renew my subscription... I think their reports on vacuums are a crock, mainly because they don't do durability/longevity testing. That needs to change.

    Kenmore Logo Colors

It depends The early Kenmores with the new logo were mostly in gold. Your Kenmore is probably more around the 1999-2000 vintage. Those definately weren't being made yet in 1996. The old-style Kenmore uprights with the independant brushroll motor and metal handle were still being made in '96...

    Lucky Filter Queen find

Very nice! Filter Queens really are the best of the best! Unsurpassed in filtration.

    New Air-Way Canister Vacuum

Why? I thought Air-Way folded in 2008? This machine is a disgrace to the Air-Way name. Nothing like their past machines. Plastic garbage.

    Are These Rare?

I don't think so. Those are "bojack" bags, meaning they are non-genuine bags. If they are only one-ply, I wouldn't use them because they would leak dust terribly. I use HEPA Hoover Y bags, and glue them to an Electrolux "C" collar.

    Overpriced Eureka Dial-a-Nap Upright

I hope so! Because $570 is at least three times what it cost new, and it isn't remotely rare at all.

DD Model 103 make me an offer

First three numbers of serial number: D90 That means it was assembled in April of 1990.

    Wow, this one's gettin' loco

If money grew on trees... I'd be spending $900 plus on vacuums left and right. Just kidding.

Arguement over new Royal vs. new Kirby

So true, kenkart! I stated on Facebook that it's the ONLY reason why I don't own a new one. But, my Anniversary Edition from 1992 is a VERY powerful cleaner.

Selling my nos Kenmore heavy duty power spray/cleanmore.

I hope you sell it! If I had more money and space, I'd get it.

Arguement over new Royal vs. new Kirby

So on one of the Kirby threads on facebook, someone gets the idea that Royals were simply cheap copies of Kirby? Hasn't Royal been in the business LONGER than Kirby? And then, the Royal is like an old Kirby Sanitronic and EVERY Kirby since the 500 series outperforms the Royal. You have got to be...

So I messaged Eureka about a nos Eureka world vac

There WAS one on ebay I remember it, about two years ago. A red one. I think it sold between $200-300. About what it sold for new.

Lots of machines to choose from! But I think its best that you left those. None of those machines, with the exception of the Kenmore shop vac (never seen one) and MAYBE the Hoover Spirit (If it had the PN), are worth getting. The others are very common, mostly cheap vacuums. That F and G Eureka...
