Life with the quickstep is going better than expected. I have used it with the twister floor brush and even threw the 236 on there to do carpet. Worked superbly. Made me wish that the 236 had a foot option to stop the brush tool though. Would have came in handy for the quick off carpet sections...

Thanks Ryan for the reply. I like the lay flat while "straight" approach. Are you able to maneuver the floor tool sideways to get into narrow spaces like the Miele Twister floor head?

Does anyone know if the Sebo Felix stand on its own with the floor brush attached? I know it does if you use the ET-1 power head but wondering if it does with the Sebo Kombi head.

Dan, the size of the Miele bags are also twice the size of Aerus bags. Nonetheless, the Miele bags are still more expensive. Just want to keep it in perspective cause it isn't as drastic as it seems... more like $3.20 to $4.74... :)

@eurikaprice, an 8 ft hose would be lovely on all the premium canisters.

@georgect, your point has some validity to it but not everyone needs a longer cord. Hence the reason the Riccar isn't as long as sebo etc. Anyways, which vacuum did you end up purchasing to augment or replace your Miele?

The cord length is also part of the design priority for some manufactors. Every design has a trade off for someone whether it be the designer, builder, or customer. Can't please everyone. If you could there would only be one vacuum company. No need for others. :)

The sebo has the longest cord. Then the common breakdown stops seem to be 28ft, 26/25ft, 22/21ft. If you must have a long cord then sebo D4 is your only canister choice. Whether Or not you like that vac is another story. If you can live with shorter based on your room design/layout then...

I think Dan brings up a good point. We on this forum are much more "passionate" about these sorts of things than the average consumer. I just hope that Aerus recognized that there is an issue and corrects it with new units being sold instead of waiting for enough people in the masses to call...

If it was a hair salon it could have been a younger person using the vacuum. The younger generation is a bagless generation and don't know a whole bunch or maybe nothing at all about a bagged vacuum. They may have thought that you vacuum and the hair magically disappears never to return.
