My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

williamr Very well said and true. Its too bad that they won't adopt modern business strategies to survive. Miele and Riccar/Simpl. have 12 locations in my region. Aerus- 1 !

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

missing the boat, drowing in the water... That's insane a quote of $2,500, he deserves to loose the sale, what a rip-off. He's trying to triple or even quadruple his profit margin over the phone, at least do that in the store. That sales model is the kiss of death, no wonder these guys are...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

I think the carpet rug institute ratings are bull, its so subjective! They probably charge the manufacture to be listed on there, kind of like the Allergy Foundation website where it lists Dyson as Allergy and Asthma friendly. I laugh. The Aerus machines, most of them pick up very well. I mean...

Cirrus Upright (What are your thoughts)

I think the Aerus Commercial will hold up better over time. We use a Windsor vacuum at work, basically the Sebo X4 copy, its indestructible. Most commercial and hotel industries use highly the Sanitaire or Windsor. My gym uses Windsor backpacks. The Cirrus design I believe stems off the models...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

Stricklybojack I agree, I think Apple's approach is a great idea, including the small highly visible locations. Perhaps where Apple stores are in high end malls, Aerus could go the way of a kiosk with live demonstrations in these same malls. An upscale mall would have the right demographic mix...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

I understand what you are saying, and its valid that there are customers that will continue to use and buy their products, no dispute. I am one of them. However, what you are missing is that the future of the product and its business model is in jeopardy by not producing a complete line up that...

    Best Canister w/ Powerhead

The Sebo I use at work weekly performs just fine on the high pile carpet and frieze area rug in the waiting room. Most commercial or hotel use Sebo/Windsor or Sanitaire.

    Best Canister w/ Powerhead

Sebo D4 all the way... go check one out, they offer 30 or 60 day trials. I don't think any other brand does that. Long Hose, Long Cord, Large Bags, Great Filtration, Very easy to maintain and QUIET!! The Simplicities and Riccar (same thing) are good too but noisier and heavier, a little more...

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

Nothing innovative simply lazy if all they did was change the colors. They do not invest in new technology development. With this upright model, on board tools was necessary, or a direct connect hose was needed. Also it should be a sealed system, how hard can that be. For $1,000 door price...

Any Word on NEW Riccar Canister? (getting close to end of year)

I think they should re-brand too. Get rid of Simplicity or Riccar and make one solid brand! Use the new Maytag vacuums as the value brand. Tacony has too many confusing lines, like the GM of vacuums. Many of the uprights are basically re-used designs morphing from the Panasonic, Sanyo and Fuller...

Any Word on NEW Riccar Canister? (getting close to end of year)

I would like to see what they come out with also. I do not like the current power nozzle design, but performance is excellent. That small wire in the rear of the nozzle can get caught on the furniture or under beds and rip/tear it over time. I like the L shaped power nozzles better. I want to...

Sad day here on Long Island

Yes, I do recall seeing a vacuum store there in Deer Park; many times I have driven up and down 231... although I never visited it or was into vacuums only until about two years ago. How come you closed? Long Island has very few independent vacuum retailers I noticed. Where I live now just...

Sad day here on Long Island

wow, I grew up and used to live nearby in Dix Hills. I have been to that store before...hopefully the owner will rebuild a nicer and better place. He pushed a lot of the Miele line mostly. I have since moved to DC area.

My New Aerus Vacuums - Part 3

Smells All vacuums with a bag that fills up will eventually have some sort of exhaust smell to it. It will probably have more odor if you have pets, unless you bathe them twice a week. A bagless vacuum will probably do the same as most people do not empty the bin until its beyond full or...

    SEBO VACUUM CLEANERS

I have experienced many different uprights... at home and in commercial settings. Miele S7, Riccar Brilliance, Oreck XL, Sebo Felix, Sebo X4, Kirby, Royal and the Aerus Guardian Upright. Out of all of them and in terms of suction(accessories/tools also), air flow and agitation, the Miele S7...

    Aerus Canisters

I will agree with the post above... overpriced, be sure to negotiate if you want to buy one. Aerus operates like car salesman. Their sales model/method needs to change if they want to compete in the current consumer market. Riccar and Miele still outsells.

Simplicity Gusto vs. Miele S8 Uniq

Side point.... Having carpets professionally steam cleaned once a year is the best way to get all the allergens out. Every ten years or so, you rip 'em up or go hardwood! Modern design in new home construction has been favoring hard floor surfaces. Oak, Pine, Bamboo, slate, tile, etc.

    Aerus Canisters

They are good machines, a bit expensive, but they come with some of the longest warranties available for a vacuum cleaner. I have the Guardian Upright, I like it, my only complaint is the tools are separate. The canisters are more versatile for different cleaning needs. There are other brands...

Simplicity Gusto vs. Miele S8 Uniq

You should have orignially stated that you used the Kirby after both the Riccar and Miele to test what they failed to pick up. I would go with the Kirby then, if that's what it can pick up. I like machines that are easy to use and quick. Having to attach hoses, wands, etc., gets annoying. You...
