Curious about this Panasonic Jet Flo upright

That's awesome! Old advertising makes me happy. Like I said I wasn't sure, but that's good to know that it was their best 😄 My first ever was a 5116, such a basic little machine but it performed excellent. That's also back in the day when Consumer Reports' ratings actually meant something too...

    Panasonic built Miele

Okay now that is cool I always wondered what the Triforce meant! What about the Jet-Flo name?

    Panasonic built Miele

A lot of those 2000s models Were high performance 12 amp motors, as was the theme of the 2000s. I think that's when manufacturers figured out that they could crank out the maximum amount of power from their vacuums without tripping breakers 😂 If I remember right those Miele machines were...

Curious about this Panasonic Jet Flo upright

You're totally fine! Most of the time I shut the brush roll off when I have a hose attached for tool use. She's getting a little old so rattles aren't unusual especially when the machine is locked in the upright position. My curiosity was due to the fact that Panasonic was always doing...

Curious about this Panasonic Jet Flo upright

I just wanted To know why they went with the dual belt design instead of a single belt

Curious about this Panasonic Jet Flo upright

Yeah the switch On the head moves a lever, and that lever bumps the belt to the idler pulley. It actually does halfway decent on the floor 🤷 I don't remember if this is their absolute top of the line model or one below... I do have a soft spot for the budget models though

Curious about this Panasonic Jet Flo upright

I've had this machine for awhile now, and I'm curious as to why they decided to go with this belt setup on this particular model? The other ones I see don't have that second pulley and round belt, they just have one belt and a brush roll that has an idler pulley. Was there an advantage to this...

    Panasonic built Miele

I don't believe that Panasonic motors were ever 2 stage? I'm not quite sure what the Jet-Flo moniker meant either, it seems to have something to do with the way the motor is built. I have one of the uprights from the 80s, and in tool mode at full power, it doesn't have a whole lot of static...

    Ahhh. remember when......

That reminds me I remember when Costco employees would demo machines, I think I was maybe 3 or 4 years old, and I was curious about a Eureka of some sort. I think it may have been a Whirlwind or Victory or some variation of The Boss... She asked if I was ready for her to turn it on, I said no...

    Ahhh. remember when......

Ohhh I hope I don't get banned for this But this is as good as porn 😂 I miss Sears and Kmart back in the day. I've been lucky enough to own some of the pictures machines and seeing these old photos makes me kick myself for selling them off. Maybe we'll come full circle one of these days and...

Unusual amount of vacs at Goodwill.

You'd be surprised! I've heard stories of people using ancient Kirby uprights as well as Electrolux model 30s as daily drivers up until they saw the flashy new Shark last week 😂 Granted there are times I prefer something a bit more modern, I've been thoroughly enjoying my domestic Twin Energy...

Unusual amount of vacs at Goodwill.

It's been weeks Since I've gone and I always feel like I'm missing out on stuff 😂 The last score was my commercial Sharp, and I've had great luck in the past at Idaho Youth Ranch. There's a couple of vacs that have been sitting there for months and I've considered rescuing them... One is an...

Unusual amount of vacs at Goodwill.

Oh man! I miss when the local stores would get huge lots of machines at a time. I would have snapped up that Mighty Mite so quickly 😂

    🙄

I wouldn't think so 😅 Maybe a few hundred at minimum, it seems to be in pretty good shape? Hopefully whoever does buy it gives it the home it deserves

    🙄

Truthfully The Penncrest badged Hoovers are quite a bit more valuable than the standard Convertibles.... I sold one to my go to eBay guy and he sold it for $500. It seems to be a case of both face value as well as being somewhat less common to see vintage JCPenney appliances. I know the guy...

Finally found the *best* vacuum for my cleaning business! Sharp Twin Energy

Definitely will pass on the Prolux The 8000 commercial model only has a 30 foot cord, and it looks like the belts have been out of stock for quite some time now 😕

Finally found the *best* vacuum for my cleaning business! Sharp Twin Energy

My bad I thought they did production here 🤷 Hopefully the Twin Energy lasts awhile longer as I'm not ready to commit to something brand new at this moment. It should, I take pretty good care of it

    for the life of me

I love eBay And have found some absolutely fantastic stuff in the past and recently, but some of these sellers are deluded. I get that people are figuring out that there's a market for old vacs, but daaaaaamn. Marketplace has been my best friend, along with a unique relationship with the local...

    Rare Shark Vacuums?

Good to know ☺️ Euro Pro had some cool machines and I only have one true power head canister. I can't find a sliver of info on that particular one. No reviews, no parts lists... Any info on it?
