Added a new machine to my collection

That’s awesome! My S7 Swing was kind of a Christmas gift to myself as well. I agree with you the +/- buttons are a bit stiff to push but I like having the full range of six suction settings like all other Miele’s have with the classic icons instead of the four suction settings like my S7 Salsa...

Added a new machine to my collection

Today my Miele dealer received a brand new (old stock) Miele S7 Swing. I have wanted a swing or tango for so long and in 2017 I purchased a used S7 Salsa. Today I traded the Salsa for the Swing. I have to bring the Salsa back tomorrow as I was not expecting to purchase a machine today but they...

    Has Miele changed hands?

Yeah I don’t have too much concerns over the Chinese made products because I have a Compact C1 PureSuction on the sales floor right now and it feels just as toughly built as the Complete C3 Homecare sitting next to it that’s made in Germany. The Classic C1 though made in Germany doesn’t feel as...

I don't see this ending well

I already got the uprights in my store dead from a local good will that used them to clean the store. Hoover warranty replaced the machines for good will. The backpacks I’ve had shelves of dead ones for a few years now from moisture getting in the batteries from where the commercial places store...

    Has Miele changed hands?

I love my Miele’s. The S5’s are a gem. @dysonman1 they are totally repairable but it is really difficult to find part numbers and the parts are expensive and often take an extremely long time to get in. Our dealer log in has never worked to get into the dealer parts guides and such so that makes...

    Has Miele changed hands?

Ok it’s good to know they haven’t changed hands though I agree they have hurt them selves in the US market by deleting all uprights. Selling only canisters in a country where uprights are the big sellers is like car manufacturers that try to sell sedans and coupes here in the US, they don’t do...

    Has Miele changed hands?

That is true, it is one of the best Chinese products made so I wasn’t too worried back when they did that, but some of the decisions being made now and models like the boost CX1 series concern me.

    Has Miele changed hands?

I’ve noticed within the last couple of years since Miele changed their naming system from “S” models to complete, compact, classic “c” models that they have not been themselves so to speak. I hated the naming system then as I do now but they began making some machines in China and brought back...

    Oreck XL-21 vs Gold Forever

I understand your desire for an Oreck. To me there’s just an allure about the machines that draw me to them. People think I’m crazy for having the Orecks I have. If you had to choose between an XL21 or the Forever Series Gold like the title of the thread says, choose an XL21. They were arguably...

    Numatic BAGGED stick vac

That’s quite similar to the Oreck pod idea with their bagged cordless stick vac.

    Dyson dc 07 needs repair

The clutch is the cause of the grinding and it’s likely something is jammed in it. The fact the bin is falling apart and I’m sure the plastics are brittle I would move on. These are old and not even that good of machines. Nostalgia is the only thing giving them value to anyone at this point.

    What Canister To Buy?

A Sebo would be a great option for your aunt and uncle. I love Miele’s (as obvious by my username and profile picture) but working at a vacuum store where we sell Sebo and Miele’s among other brands and the Sebo’s (at least from us) are offered with a special dealer code that unlocks a 10/10/7...

    The Roomba Experience

Congratulations what a nice win! That’s over $1k in value you got there. I always found it so interesting that as much as people seem to hate bags and bagless is a big deal that they use bags in robot vacuum bases. Robot vacuums of all vacuum types would be the ones I’d think would always be...

    David Vacuums

@dysonman1 You’re right I have seen the quality suffer recently with Tacony machines. Their parts do take quite a bit of time to come in from China now. I know they switched the motors in the Tacony lightweights from Amteks to some random Chinese motor. The Elevate Control (base model Oreck)...

    David Vacuums

I am interested to see if they end up moving past the Tacony line of uprights and create their own designs again. Tom Oreck didn’t have a very good hold of the Oreck corporation to begin with because I believe he began running Oreck after David Oreck retired and led Oreck into bankruptcy which...

    David Vacuums

The design of the new Orecks are decent but the diminishing factor TTI has brought to them is the quality has suffered a lot. Orecks now are made with cheaper, flimsier plastics and cheap wiring causing them to frequently have shorts, and on models like the elevate command, the handles have a...

    David Vacuums

Here’s the YouTube video introducing their “everywhere” model which is the famous cordless Tacony lightweight.

    David Vacuums

Has anyone else seen or heard about the revival of Oreck but it’s called David now? Tom Oreck is the president and it’s the REAL Oreck not TTI garbage the the name Oreck is being produced under today. Funny enough the new David vacuums are actually rebadged Tacony lightweight uprights. Just a...

    Aerus guardian power issue

Check the brushes Occasionally I’ve had guardians come in with worn down motor brushes which were the culprit of the motor not running. Another thing that happens is if your bag light is coming on then the machine won’t run. The bag full sensor has a tendency to go bad and the majority of...

    Is Sebo X7 really good?

I have noticed sometimes when I’m using or demoing an X7 to a customer I can hear a whistle from where the hose goes into the wand and no matter what I do I can’t seem to make it stop. The bag doors sometimes don’t seem to go on that well but typically I put the owners manual and extra bag...
