    Lux D790 Royal

So I finally got the Lux D790 Royal. For me it's the "real" Electrolux. It seems very solidly built. Yes it's heavy and was overpriced for the most "normal" people in the 90's when it was made. But for vacuum enthusiast like me I appreciate classic look and durable structure. It's also powerful...

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Oreck XL suction fan size I have always liked the Oreck XL design. I mean lightweight, low profile, large bag and nice wooden brushroll. But what I have not liked is that it is VERY loud and suction fan is tiny. So my assumption is that the airflow isn't very good at all.

New Sebo "Mechanical" Line of Commercial Upright Vacuums

Yes that's true. Actually Windsor Versamatic and Kärcher CV36/2 are copy of Sebo BS 36 design. Very good for carpet cleaning.

New Sebo "Mechanical" Line of Commercial Upright Vacuums

Brushstrip removal Brushstrip is very easy to remove. Here are pictures how it's done in my Kärcher CV36/2 (SEBO BS36). About removing the whole brushbar I have no idea.

Electrolux D740 Automatic and D780 Royal

Yes prize he is asking is a bit too expensive so I have to think twice what I do. I am quite new at collecting vacuums and I have to calm down, before I go to bankrupt :D New vacuums are still coming for sure and those 80's Electrolux tanks are awesome.

Electrolux D740 Automatic and D780 Royal

It's funny how same vacuum is sold with different name in different countries. Just like Lux Intelligence in here and Sauber Intelligence in USA. By the way I just send offer to seller for D780 Royal. Asking prize is 85€. I offered 60€ Lets see...

Electrolux D740 Automatic and D780 Royal

Thank You for information! Very nice collection you have there! I am very tempted to buy that D780. It's like European version of those US Aerus/Electrolux canisters. I just love that quality look of it. Too shame that D740 comes with the powerhead and D780 not. On the other hand that automatic...

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Good point there. If I had a wall to wall carpeting in my apartment I wouldn't be able to vacuum under the furniture with my upright. Who wants to move sofas and other heavy objects when vacuuming. Canister with the full-size powerhead does equally good job at carpet cleaning than good upright +...

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Nice to hear. I can borrow a hose from one of my cylinders to give it a try and see how convenient it is.

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

Before this thread goes totally off topic I am curious to ask has anyone tried to use the upright with the long hose for hard floor vacuuming? Then I wouldn't need to use more than one vacuum.

Electrolux D740 Automatic and D780 Royal

Interesting to know! Here is about -2C (28.4 degree F). Not too bad. It looks like a very solidly built vacuum. I believe that these used to be very expensive vacuums compared to the "market" vacuums. Current model is Lux Intelligence (Sauber in some countries) and it costs around 1500-2000€...

Electrolux D740 Automatic and D780 Royal

Lux Royal I found some more info. D780 is actually Lux Royal and it has been sold by door to door salesman. Slightly newer model or how old these things are?

Electrolux D740 Automatic and D780 Royal

Has anyone any information about these canisters? Seller is the same who sold the AEG Vampyr 402 for me. All vacuums what he sells are refurbished by him. Ad says that D780 Royal is 1100 watts and comes with automatic floor nozzle. D740 Automatic is 1000 watts and comes with the powernozzle.

the rise in popularity of cylinder vacuums in the UK

I use my canister few times per week to vacuum the hard floors + turbo brush for the quick carpet vacuuming. It has long hose and nozzles are light so it's easy and effortless to use. I no longer use the powerhead in it, because canister works best when it has the light nozzles. Once in a week I...

    1986 toshiba vj-350

What a great find! I have soft spot for those Japanese vacuums. My aunt had a bagless Hitachi C-V160GN from the 70's. She owned it over 20 years! Very solid vac and great design. It was exactly same like in this video.

A decent "best buy" reccomendations from Trusted Reviews.

I love those Sebo vacuums. I already have tasted what the Sebo quality is with my Sebo based Kärcher CV36/2 upright. I must say that the build quality and performance is excellent. I gotta search ebay if I could find a Sebo Airbelt C3 canister. Just a fantastic vacuums.

Thank's for the welcome, and a repair frustration

Here is picture of the current Classic model. It has just a simple manual knob to change the speed. Colors vary in different countries. In Finland Classic is white. Too shame they don't make them in Sweden anymore. I have old Volta U258 (Electrolux in some countries) from the late 80's and it's...
