    higher pitch, probably smaller motors

Quiet vac, loud powerhead Kenmore whisper tone sounds very nice and soft. My problem with the quiet canisters is that the powerhead is louder than the canister itself. For example Lux D790 Royal. It's quiet and soft sounding, but when I use it on the low pile carpet powerhead makes that loud...

Wow This Is Crazy! Didn't Expect That

Hoover Elite & Turbopower I love those Hoover Elites and Turbopowers! Man that's amazing agitation! What is the voltage in the UK? In here it's 220v. Just wondering if I find something from the ebay.

    higher pitch, probably smaller motors

Yes that Volta in the video has that strange when the motor is slowing down. There is one vacuum with very high-pitched sound. It's also very loud to make it worse. Otherwise I don't have anything against the Dyson. This is the DC07 and I believe that they used two different motors in this...

Two samples of old canisters sounds:

Cyclonic action itself causes more noise. I noticed that when I first used my cyclonic bag saver.

    higher pitch, probably smaller motors

Most of the modern bagless canister and upright vacuums has annoyingly high-pitched sound. Miele and Sebo are different thing. Electrolux also makes very pleasant sounding vacs.

    higher pitch, probably smaller motors

I have noticed it too. I can't stand that high-pitched scream what most of the current vacuums sound. Especially bagless vacuums tend to sound like that. Very annoying. That is the reason why I use old canister vacs with the large twin fan motor = low rpm. Lots of suction/airflow, but pleasing...

    Lux D790 Royal

Powerhead works excellent on the shag carpet! New belt and lower brushroll position now.

    Lux D790 Royal

hard to push It's a bit hard to push, but not harder than my Miele SEB-217 powerhead with wheels. After my small modification (small suction release holes) it doesn't stick to the carpet so much like it used to (due to the powerful suction).

    Lux D790 Royal

Yes it picks up well, but the belt was a bit loose. I fitted the new Vorwerk ET 30 belt and now what a difference! No slowing down on the shag carpet. It has 150w motor so new brushroll wouldn't be a problem.

    Lux D790 Royal

Oh that's why it wasn't working :D I made small modification to the soleplate and now it's working much better and it's a bit easier to push. You can see the mod in the picture. Just a tiny bit more side suction so it doesn't stick to the carpet. It actually performed very nicely and made nice...

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

airflow I knew that Kirby would have more airflow than Dyson, but so much! And top of all that with the hose! Dyson = 1 out of 10 Kirby = 7 out of 10

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

I was going to mention about it, but that's what I was also thinking. Dyson Cinetic Big Ball would have been better choice. My comment was about the testing methods.

    Dyson engineering ineptitude and complacency

If someone posted this video already I apologise. But this is how to test vacuums fairly. This is not typical "who vacuums last wins". He vacuumed with the first vacuum multiple passes and emptied it. Then he vacuumed again with the same vacuum and only got tiny amount of stuff. Then he vacuumed...

    Lux D790 Royal

This powerhead has a small brush roll with soft bristles so it's not a deep cleaner. It would be just nice to be able to use it on my shag rug. But it seems to fail in that without the manual height adjustment. If I want to give my rugs a deep clean I use my upright seen in the link. It has very...

    Lux D790 Royal

Yeah the Hepa box is nice feature and it gives extra protection to the motor. But like you said using the synthetic bags there is no really need for that. Synthetic bags have good filtration compared to the paper bags. Exhaust microfilter must be the biggest I have seen. I am very happy about...

bagged vs. bagless Yeah I totally understand why you returned the Electrolux Cyclone Power bagless. I have owned the Electrolux UltraOne (bagged) and UltraPerformer/Active (bagless). Difference is that UltraOne with its simple airpath is much more powerfull and quieter also.

Airflow vs Suction Everyone should see this. This is why I don't like the bagless vacuums.

Holy cow those newer Vorwerks are nice. I just can't afford those.
