Here is one video what I found from the youtube.

    New full-size powerhead from Electrolux

So I finally pulled the trigger and ordered the full size powerhead Electrolux Paragon. It should be quite a big improvement compared to the old tiny ph what we get in the Europe. I will be using it with my Electrolux UltraFlex. It already has wiring to the powerhead. For now I have been using...

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

When I do my suction test with the turbo brush I compare several vacuums using the same turbo brush. So this method always need a another "reference" vacuum where to compare. When Dyson cyclones clog, reason is mostly lack of mainentance. Filling the bin too full, vacuuming damp dust and that...

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

Dyson cyclones can get clogged over time. In the youtube there are a lot of videos showing it.

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

Well after seeing all this I will never again buy another bagless vacuum again. For example my old Lux Royal pulls a lot more airflow than my brand new Electrolux UltraFlex which supposed to be one of the most powerfull bagless canister vac (EU limited wattage ones) for sale.

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

I personally use the full-size turbo brush to "measure" the suction level. It's quite easy to hear tone of the turbo brush how powerful vacuum/airflow is. It certainly has revealed some surprises what I normally would not expect. http://https//www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BDHAVmNTMA

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

Yes I totally understand what you mean. However I don't think that Riccar is any harder to push compared to the Dyson or Shark despite having multiple times more airflow It's all about how the nozzle is designed. I honestly hate modern straight suction heads because those are designed to be very...

Bagless vacuums and poor airflow rate. Can this be real??

I just saw these videos and I am stunned. Basically what these videos are trying to prove is that the cyclone system in the bagless vacuums restrict the airflow A LOT. He even showed it quite dramatically how well these bagless vacuums can pull airflow without the cyclones. My own experience is...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

My sense of smell isn't the greatest (smoker) and I haven't noticed any "bad" smells. However I have noticed when I vacuumed a lot washing powder (for testing purposes) with my Lux Royal, smell came through it and there was a strong smell of it. Not bad smell by any means. Lux didn't have HEPA...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

Yes airflow is the most important thing for cleaning performance. For some unknown reason this old (mid 90's) Lux has far more suction/airflow than any of my other vacuums. I presume it's due to the very simply/straight airpath. It even has much more suction/airflow than my brand new Electrolux...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

Yes. I have to say that if I had not done test with the turbo brush side by side I really would not notice any loss of suction. Bagless vacuums do lose suction quicker if the filters are not regularly cleaned. Well Dyson has now Cinetic vacuums (no pre motor filter), but I would never use them...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

I totally agree with you, the damage has been done unfortunately. When you think how much those fleece bags can hold dirt is amazing. People don't realize that the bagged vacuums compresses the dirt and therefore one bag can easily hold (roughly) 10-15 bagless canister full of dirt in them. Also...

Tested: Bagged vacuums lost suction when bag fills

I just made a video where I compare suction when the vacuum has a full bag vs empty bag. Note that this only apply to fleece bags. Reason why I did this test is because I have watched so many bagless vacuum commercials claiming no loss of suction and why bagged vacuums are so impractical and...

Still using the straight suction on the carpets? You must see this.

upright vs canister About canisters with the ph being clumsy depends a lot of type of canister and ph. Full-size ph with the canister equipped with the standard length (1,8 meters) hose is clumsy. My UltraFlex canister has aftermarket extra long hose (2,6 meters). It makes big difference to the...

brush strips It these black brush strips are standard then I assume those red ones are very stiff. I might even order one. Replacing is very easy indeed.

Still using the straight suction on the carpets? You must see this.

Kärcher/Sebo Yes Kärcher/Sebo powerhead did clearly the best job. It has large brush roll and stiff bristles. Bristles are also very close together. Lux and Miele has much smaller brush rolls with soft bristles. Despite that Lux ph did a quite good job. I suspect that it is, because it seems to...

Still using the straight suction on the carpets? You must see this.

Carpet types Some straight suction nozzles can be quite good, but they need a lot of manual labor rubbing against the carpet. Also carpet types vary a lot. This carpet where I am doing the test is dense soft and quite high pile. Very demanding to get clean and powerhead (especially the Kärcher...

Still using the straight suction on the carpets? You must see this.

I thought to bring this video here, because result was quite shock for me. Of course I knew that the straight suction isn't the best way to get carpet deep down clean, but difference is huge. Also powerheads had a bigger difference than I thought. All vacuums in this test had almost empty...

    Customizing the Vacuum Cleaner?

Price You are correct, my vacuum doesn't have powerhead connection, so I had to do it myself. UltraFlex with the full-size ph is not available in the Finland. UltraOne is and it costs 499€ with the ph. Way too expensive for me. Normal price for the UltraFlex is 200-250€. I got it from the...

    Customizing the Vacuum Cleaner?

I thought that I bring this subject to this forum. What people think about customizing the vacuum cleaner? Do you think that it's ruining or improving the vac? Here is what I did to my Electrolux UltraFlex Green: I ordered the longer 2.6 meter hose, because the original 1.5 meter was too short...
