    Two new finds!

You have a very nice collection yourself!! One GE I'd love to have would be a Roll-Easy.

    Two new finds!

Thanks! I'll work with it at some point. I actually had mother's mag but ran out. I'll get some more eventually.

    Two new finds!

About three weeks ago, a woman emailed me in response to my wanted ad that I had on Craigslist looking for vintage vacuum cleaners. She sent me pictures of two very old General Electrics that were found in an attic of a deceased relative. She told me they both ran but wasn't sure how well they...

    Bags for Lewyt Electronic Upright

Another helpful hint... At the time of this Lewyt's production, Lewyt did not label them as "vacuum bags." They called them "speed sacs." I don't have any speed sacs myself so I found with a little bit of bending, a Hoover Y bag (Hepa) will fit my 121 Lewyt. It filters FAR better than the...

Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck to fan housing

I'll have to take it to a shop The lower fan housing moves with the separator when I try to pry it off. I don't want to damage the housing. I was able to put the new separator on, so I think I overtightened it. The old separator was also easier to pry off.

New Photos of My Growing Collection!

Beautiful! What is the upright to the left of the straight suction Apex? I love the styling on that thing! I also really like your Air-Way upright. Still looking for one of my own!

    More Collection Updates

Thank You! I'm very proud to have that. Now all I need is a Universal canister! The light still works too. I'm going to try to find a substitute for a plug on that Eureka Hand Vac. As much as I hate tape on vacuums, it will have to do for now.

Rainbow E2 Separator Stuck to fan housing

I just bought a Rainbow E2 and had trouble getting the separator off. I finally got it off with the prying end of the hammer. I bought a new separator and put it on but now it's just doing the same thing the old separator was doing. But now I can't even get it off the way I was able to with the...

    More Collection Updates

I've been busy buying/selling vacuum cleaners over the past couple of months but finally got around to sharing what I've gotten in the past 1 1/2 months. I recently met a vacuum collector in my area that to my surprise, has a TON of vintage machines. Not only that, but he has several RARE...

Kenmore Canister find at the sales today

Actually..... There IS a way to use Hepa bags in these. I've been using Kenmore U bags in my Magicord for a couple years now. When you have so many machines, you have to find substitutes for bags whenever you can. Almost any vintage vacuum that uses regular disposable bags with a collar can...

Motor for eureka the boss bravo model 7630

Look on ebay That's where I got my NOS Bravo motor for $45. There may be a couple more on there. You don't need much skill to install it. The new motor just "hooks" to the cord.

Vintage Sears Best Canister -- 1970's

Someone must save that gorgeous thing! If fully functional, it's easily worth ten times what they are asking for it.

    Rainbow E Series Separator Stuck

Update! I took the "hook" end of my hammer (not sure what it's called) and gently pried at the top "lip" of the separator. It came right off and didn't damage anything! Just as I thought, it was THICK dirt that caused it to become stuck. Luckily there isn't really any rust up there. I'm...

    Rainbow E Series Separator Stuck

Ok Will that damage the motor components to hit it with a rubber mallet if you hit it too hard?

    Rainbow E Series Separator Stuck

Any thoughts? I might take it to the vac shop. I certainly don't want to damage any parts since the motor itself runs fine.

    Niagara JR. hand vac

Interesting! Where did you get it? I just had mini meets with two Rochester collectors over the past two weeks. I'm going to try to have one with all of us soon. You are welcome to come if you want. I'd like to hear your "vacuum" story and maybe you'd like to hear mine.
