The MOST RAREST Eureka Whirlwind Vacuum. Ever!!!

I have one of these... I was fortunate to find one at a vacuum cleaner store about two months ago for a low price. Brand new in the box, from around 1998. I opened up the box to see that everything is there but it has not left the box, nor has it been out of the packaging.

    ISO eureka bagged victory/smart vac

Try Craigslist and thrift stores in your area as well! Eureka sold so many of these vacuums, and I see them around here all the time. They will turn up, you just have to look in the right places. Hold out for one in good condition too. There’s so many of these still around, you’re bound to find...

    Westinghouse Wired Deluxe Question

Hey there... I might have to do some internet digging. If I am not mistaken, they had a downloadable PDF version of the manual for this online, as well as the other “Fury/Wired” model.

Hoover WindTunnel 2 Rewind Pet Hose Ripped!

It does make a difference Huskyvacs More expensive vacuum brands generally have better quality control, better customer service, and better parts availability. These are brands you find in vacuum stores such as Miele, Sebo, Riccar, etc... These are also vacuums that don’t have brushroll...

Hoover WindTunnel 2 Rewind Pet Hose Ripped!

The fact that you got it for free furthers my point It shouldn’t be a big deal as it has already outlasted its life expectancy. Even when you compare $80 versus $140, that is still cheap for a vacuum. It doesn’t matter how much or how little the vacuum is used either in regards to the belt...

Hoover WindTunnel 2 Rewind Pet Hose Ripped!

I wouldn't call this "sudden" The vacuum is five years old, and clearly has held up to a considerable amount of use. You have to remember that this is an $80 vacuum, not a $1000 Kirby or Miele. Five years is a long time for an $80 vacuum to last these days. Plastic gets weaker over time and...

    Reliability of Fantom vacuums?

To add to above comments The Thunder and Fury were easier to service because they both used Amtek motors that were meant to be serviced. From what I’ve heard, the Cyclone XT and Lightning used Panasonic motors. There were circuit boards in the Lightning and Cyclone XT that could fail, not the...

I’d Love to get to know more of you... PLEASE Comment.

A brief introduction from me... I started collecting in 2009, and the vacuum that started it all was 1997 Fantom Thunder than my Mom and I pick up for $20 on Craigslist. I used the hell out of it for the first few years I had it. Now, it tends to sit but I pull it out now and again. The motor...

    Weird Hoover Spirit Bagless Upright

I saw this listed on Craigslist in the neighborhood behind mine and I couldn’t resist. I was aware of the bagged models, but not the bagless ones. It’s a model U5019-900. There is next to no information on this model online. Any thoughts? It’s quite unusual.

Kenmore Progressive Inteliclean Upright $12 Orlando

Not a bad vacuum That independent motor brushroller is hard to work on, so I’ve heard. My Dad bought one in 2008 at Sears for about $250 and it lasted 5 1/2 years. The first three years of its live, it received very heavy usage. They clean well and have a lot of power. That one is worth picking...

    Dumping vacuums at my Goodwill?!

“Our store doesn’t sell old-fashioned bagged vacuums” I guess since everything they get in that store is FREE, they have no sense of appreciation for it. It is sad that these Goodwills are starting to become less and less interested in helping people. How selfish of her to decide for everyone...

New to me Fantom Crosswind 600 XL

I did actually pick up a 10 amp Fury two weeks ago I got it off of Craigslist. It works great, the only issue was that it was missing the lower portion of the cyclone assembly, which I pulled off a parts 10 amp Fury I have. It has surprisingly a decent amount of airflow through the hose for a...

New to me Fantom Crosswind 600 XL

Yes indeed! The HEPA filter and the entire cyclone assembly from the Cyclone XT can be used on this machine. I definitely recommend doing that if anyone, for some reason would want to use this day to day. I wouldn't though as it is fragile and hard to find parts for.

New to me Fantom Crosswind 600 XL

I am fortunate enough to have found a very nice example of a Fantom Crosswind 600XL on ebay! It is in close to mint condition! There aren't many of these around today because they didn't sell for long before Fantom went under. I am also fortunate enough to have a dark blue Fantom Wildcat in...

    Eureka Vacuums 2007 Catalog (PDF)

I’d go for the Boss bagged and Bagless uprights Their build quality/cleaning ability was superb for the price. They are still being made now under the Sanitaire label.

    I got a Whispertone!!!!

Great machine! I’ve come across a few of these machines over the years. I would change the belt on a regular basis, they seem to wear fairly quickly on these. I also recommend Kenmore HEPA bags- they protect the motor from dust accumulation. They also keep the bag compartment much cleaner.

    Buyer Beware: Rude eBay Seller

His stuff is junk He lives in my city (Rochester) and I tried to buy a Drytech from him some years ago. He brought it by and it was trashed. Motor was gone. Still wanted like 50 or 60 bucks- something crazy like that. His crap sits outside and is exposed to everything- I wouldn’t trust any of that.

Looking for rare Hoover Elite model

Those aren’t that rare I’ve seen a few of these, I found a mint one at Goodwill a few years ago and snatched it up. I don’t have it anymore but it was probably one of the nicest condition Elites I’ve come across. Frequent the thrift stores, they made so many of these and they are still out there

    The Very Rare Vectron

Greg Palmer and I both got Vectrons from Tom I am the one who has the video on YouTube. I believe Greg just put a new motor in his. I’m glad you found this one in such great shape, mine is pretty rough but I’ll get it running eventually.
