    Simplicity Syncrony find

Decided to hit the thrift stores the other day. Salvation arm had a DC 28 for 60 dollars and an Oreck XL2 for 30. I know the DC 28 is suppose to be one of Dysons better models, but I really wasn’t looking to spend that much. I also don’t think there’s much of a difference with the XL2 versus...

    Upright hose useability

The Dyson/Fantom intergrated handle/hose is a clever idea but can be awkward depending on how you use it. When you pull it out you have the whole thing at full extension. If you need the whole thing to reach a tall spot then it’s great. If you don’t need the wand, then you either have to fight...

    Fantom Fury find.

Yes I do believe the HEPA filter was an option on the Thunder, it does come come right off. After taking the Fury apart for a cleaning I did come across the fluff trap. Better than nothing I suppose.

    Olympia One

I kinda figured that the original customer had been sold a replacement power nozzle for whatever reason. If that was the case though you would think it would have a newer one than what originally came it with, not an older. I think I have to say that I like the PN 4 better though. I have a thick...

    Upright hose useability

Maybe a controversial opinion but one of the few things the Hoover Z had going for it was it’s great hose set up. Easy to use and the hose attached at the base of the machine so it wouldn’t upset. The weight of the thing helped keep in place too. Of course the Z was backwards from most vacuums...

    Fantom Fury find.

Had the good fortune to find a Fantom Fury this weekend. Seems to be in great shape! Haven’t had time to go through it and clean it up but it looks like it shouldn’t need much attention. Now I have to trio as well! Did these have any kind of a motor prefilter or screen? Or was it like the...

Electrolux Model CB ( Olympia Series )

Gorgeous! I’ve never need a CB in person. Is the motor the same as the one in the olympia?

    Hoover Celebrity filter idea

I wrapped a silver king flat disk around the center post for some extra filtration. One could trim it up a bit more and secure it with a rubber band if you wanted to look cleaner.

    Electrolux Epic 8000

That’sa fantastic find. It’s looks to be in excellent shape and has a lot of kit with it. Certainly worth the asking price! Happy vacuuming!

    Majestic M360ss

Filter Queen motors I’m not 100% sure…I’ll have to look on some of my machines but I believe some of the older chocolate brown models used a dual stage lamb electric motor that was similar to what was used in TriStar and some other high end machines. Again will have to do some more research...

    Majestic M360ss

Another stroke of luck here, came across this Majestic for only $10! Either the previous owner cared for it like a collector or it’s only been used a handful of times in its life. It just is almost in showroom condition. Just amazing that someone would give away such an expensive almost unused...

    Olympia One

I’ve been being very selective about what I buy lately but this 5 dollar Olympia one did manage to follow me home the other day. The question is that the original PN for it? I thought the Olympias had a brown PN-4, this one is a PN-2.

Need Help Installing Oreck "Endurolife" Serpentine Belt

Serpentine belts This probably wouldn’t have worked with your Oreck since it would have the fan on the other side of the motor, but if you have a geared or serpentine belt in something like a canister power nozzle, sometimes you don’t even have to take the entire motor out. If you loosen the...

Need Help Installing Oreck "Endurolife" Serpentine Belt

I would take the motor out, hook the belt around the pulley and then set the whole unit in place. Those kinds of belts don’t have much give so it’s takes some maneuvering to get it in place.

Been in a Dyson mood lately

Well one down side to Dysons is that they are incredibly complicated and come apart in about a million pieces it seems, especially the ball models. I found a link to someone who repaired a DC 18, I guess you can see if it’s worth the hassle. The power switch usually isn’t too bad to take apart...

Been in a Dyson mood lately

It seems lately I’ve been using my Dysons and their Fantom and Amway cousins a lot in the daily cleaning rotation lately. The DC14 needs a new lower housing but otherwise everything is in great working shape. It’s too bad they stopped making their attachments like the one on the 14 instead of...

    DC17 thoughts

I’ve had this DC17 for a while, haven’t really used it since it needed some work. I had some time so I pulled it out and got it going. I have to say I was really surprised at how much crud it dug up. The question is with its very aggressive brush bar how much was crud and how much was my...

    Nilfisk power nozzle has arrived.

I didn’t seem to find much more information about this machine, could you post some more pictures and descriptions of it? What do you like about it so much? I know Nilfisk makes commercial machines and often very high filtration machines but I don’t think I’ve ever used one.

My Cream and Brown Henry with his new face!

I love Henry’s they are so cute. I have a toy one, but I’ve been on the look out for a real one. Glad you fixed him up, even if his eyes are little uneven🤣🤣

    Eureka Rotomatic PN

One of the screw holes for the motor broke. Under tension with the belt on the motor sits crooked now and I don’t want to break it any further. Is there a clever way to fix this?
