Have you ever had a shop vac do this?

hmmm. I don't believe it has an inlet deflector. Probably fell off at some point so I guess this will continue to be a dry pickup only machine till I find an inlet, however hard that may be!

Does anyone else ever get really depressed about their collections?

I have never quite been in that kind of quarry with myself, but that is mainly due to the fact that I have been lucky enough to have free storage for just over 1/2 of my 300+/- collection. Anytime I have wanted to pull my hair out over the vastness and waste of space my machines at home take up...

Have you ever had a shop vac do this?

I know it's a somewhat strange topic considering not many people pay attention to shop vacs even in the vacuum collecting scene, but I have the strangest problem with my shop vac. It's a mid 90's shop vac brand 16 gallon. Brought it to a friend's shop to help them with a flood. Took the paper...

Some interesting vacuums I might swipe up

I went thrift storing the other day and came across 2 interesting machines. one was a craftsman shop vac with a cord rewind. I have seen one for sale before but didn't have interest at the time. The main sticker is missing and there aren't any original attachments but it looks nice, and is a...

Hoover Steamvac or Bissell Big Green

I have generally been a believer in the philosophy that if a company keeps a product/design on the market for a considerable amount of time, it has probably proven itself worthy-stood the test of time. One of the exceptions to that is Bissell's cleanview-powerforce line, and their powersteamer...

What vacuum do you dream of finding for a low price ?

vacs for a low price No matter what it is, I have only 2x paid more than $100 for a vacuum, and one of those times that was including shipping. I unhappily paid $40/piece for some vacs from a guy that did the ol' garbage pick, clean up and resell deal. But 9/10 times I won't pay more than $20...

    Sears catalogs

Very nice!! I find it a rare privilage to own such fine examples of vacuums of a period of time as you do fan-of fans. I own many of the machines pictured, remember some of those newer sears adds and the machines listed in them.91-92 would have been a little before I was even able to read or...

A longtime dream finally came true!

u4001 a very 70's machine indeed. I am quite suprised at how different looking your 4003 is from the rather basic looking 4001 I have, with it only being 2 numbers different. I guess Hoover had their methods..

    NIB Hoover find!!

I have one of those, the grandfather of an old friend of my brother gave me that almost 10 years ago. Used the heck out of it back before I had a collection going. It was at my grandpa's for a while for his floors and stairs, and it spent a little time at my dads for his floors, now it hangs in...

    Hoover Celebrity Brochure Scans.

Here's a good one I recently picked up a rather beat up Celebrity III Deluxe at the scrap yard. Most certain it is model s3137 from the brocure/picture. Thing is, it does not have a power nozzle port on it. I would have sworn by that model or at least for it being as deluxe looking as it is, it...

    Different commercial vacuum s

proteam 15xp I have one of those but unfortunately it doesn't have the handle assembly or cord. I only paid $20 for the machine but come to find the missing parts are close to $100 in total, so that machine will sit for a while.

HooverMan Yes I would! I believe that was the equivalent to the elite 700, or very similar.

    Different commercial vacuum s

I am looking into different brands of used commercial vacuums. Big foot models like the Electrolux prolux, proteams, windsors and the Hoover dubl-duty. Does anyone have some other models for me to look into? I have seen some clarke combivacs and advance carpetwins (the twins were out of my price...

Tarnish Remover-Is it safe for my Kirby?

use the tarn-x with a bench buffer. It will make it shine/not dull, but there is a big difference in using it vs. good aluminum polish. But there are a lot of factors in how well metal can be polished; the buffer speed, wheel type, and polishing compound.

    Fantom Thunder help needed!

it's easier if you have the machine in operating mode. Push on the button and wiggle the filter case back and forth until it comes off. sometimes you really have to push on that latch, but don't push too hard and break it.

What's the most disgusting mess you've ever had to vacuum up?

I bought a truck this last January and shortly found out afterwards that it looked like an animal (rat or similar) had made its home in every possible crevice of the vehicle; under the console, stuffing/insulation packed in the seat mount corners, leaves and crap wedged behind every plastic...

    American Restoration

Does anyone know the title of that american restoration episode, or where to get it so I can see what this model 3 looks like? Seems rare by the fact that the only information I can find out about it is from this forum.

With Bagless Vacuum Cleaners - do you empty the container after every use or when it gets full?

I rarely use bagless vacs, but if I do I generally empty it when it gets near full, or after use if I picked up food or something I wouldn't want sitting in there for a long time. When my Fantom used to be my regular vac, that thing was packed before I emptied it, but then I never had to deal...

IF Your Daily Driver Could Do Something Extra, What Would It Be?

D.D: Hoover innovation I wish my daily driver wasn't so fragile, was un-scratchable and had another 10' on the cord.
