Vacuum Repairs

Kenmore's seem to be the most common vacuum we see in for repair. Lots of hose issues with the canisters, especially burnt contacts and wand cords and/or broken handle tubes. A close second would be brushroll issues with the Kenmore uprights and canisters thanks to melted plastic endcaps. ...

I am looking for a brush roll for this vacuum

That machine appears to be a Lindhaus RX 450e or RX 500e that has been private labeled for Tornado. The brush rolls are still available through Lindhaus or one of its authorized dealers.

I have wanted one of these for years and I have one ( kind of rare )

Very nice machine! These uprights were actually made by Fakir. In a pinch, Bissell Style 7 upright bags will fit these machines. http://www.fakir.de/index.php?id=337

    New SEBO 370 Comfort

In North America, the X series and dual motor uprights originally used Ametek Lamb suction motors, but the current models use suction motors made by Domel in Slovenia. Brush motors used to be made by AEG, but are now manufactured by Ametek Italia. I believe they switched their suction motors...

    Miele S2 Versus Miele S5

Costs are reduced as the S2 is made on a fully automated assembly line at Miele's plant in Bielefeld, Germany. This vacuum is NOT made in China. The S2 is an excellent vacuum in the...

    Miele S2 Versus Miele S5

While the S2 uses the GN bag shared with the S5, the bag chamber will not allow the bag to inflate to its full potential. And, as Bud mentioned, the S2 is not a sealed system. Also, the S2 shares the same motor with the S6 and S7 machines, while the S5 employs a larger motor. For the same...

Tristar Compact Hepa Filter - How Much Is Enough?

You mean surprising that these expensive vacs are being powe Exactly. The current single-stage Panasonic motors, while better than some, do not last too long. If it reached five or six years in normal use and did not succumb to a failed bearing or a short in the armature, it would be one...

Tristar Compact Hepa Filter - How Much Is Enough?

Dyson motors... The DC21 uses the same motor as the DC25 and current Panasonic/Kenmore canisters, which is a Panasonic single-stage motor. As for the DC23, its motor is likely sourced from Panasonic or YDK. I own both the DC21 and the DC23. The DC23 produces more suction, but runs louder and...

Tristar Compact Hepa Filter - How Much Is Enough?

Re: Drop-in replacement? The motor ships with the gasket/mount, so technically it's a standard swap-out. Disassemble, remove the old motor, connect the wiring to the new motor and reassemble the machine. The motor used in the CXL is a two-stage Ametek Lamb motor. 116311-01 and its...

Tristar Compact Hepa Filter - How Much Is Enough?

JEI... The new JEI motor is a single-stage motor manufactured by Johnson. This motor is more powerful than the VM3, and has its commutator and carbon brushes located directly behind the fan to help promote better cooling (similar to the Miele Vortex motor)...

Tristar Compact Hepa Filter - How Much Is Enough?

VM3... VM3 was a single-stage motor made by Electrolux AB, but was referred to in literature as a "Vastervick" (possibly from being made in their former factory in Vastervik, Sweden???). Not only was this motor found in Aerus machines/TriStar MG1, it was also used in some of the Electrolux and...

    Oreck Forever Series Gold

I received a new toy yesterday... While I have never been much of an Oreck "fan", the latest progression on the XL21 series has turned me into a convert... This Forever Series Gold uses the same two-speed Johnson motor used in the XL21 series, so it runs quietly for a modern fan-first...

    Miele bag leakage ??

All HyClean/AirClean bags should have a silicone gasket on the bag collar. If you still have your HyClean bags, would you mind taking a picture and posting it here? As for the meltblown polypropelene generics available here in North America (DVC, Envirocare Technologies and 3M/Arm & Hammer)...
