    My first vacuum

Not even if a typo was made and he was born in '76. That would have been 1981, and no plastic or upright bagless vac's were even made yet then. Not in North America. Maybe a shop vac was plastic. Eureka and Hoover used steel until the mid 80's. Kenmore's were plastic, but not bagless. Bissel...

Help identifying this Miele SEB 236 part?

Miele uses Maxxon motors in their electro brushes. Ones more than 20 years old may have a Falhauber motor in them. A couple of years ago, in the spring, after some plants budded out, we had a late deep freeze, and they didn't bloom that year. It had happened once before, in 1974.

If a redneck repaired a Lux Hose...

Back in the 90's there was a Canadian comedy show with two guy's who duct taped everything back together. I think Frog tape looks nicer, just my preference.

    I'm new here.

A new memeber last week asked about Eureka. Here are some photos. It was easier opening an old thread than uploading the photo again.

    Eureka turbo tool just died!

Nick, I don't know if 3 in 1 oil is plastic compatible.

    Eureka turbo tool just died!

Try some light plastic compatible oil on the shaft ends both for the belt and vanes and the brush roll bearings. I've got one from Germany and that helped. Sewing machine oil, if plastic safe, or LaBelle hobby oil, the one for model train wheels, not for gears. The Electrolux (European)...

Stalin, another murderous ungreat. Was it Nikita Krustchef who told us he would crush us?

Gregg, Many machines use the same items for similar or different functions. I have many different interests in my blood. Cars are one, and others have also expressed their favorite cars, etc. on this site.

New Bagless Miele Blizzard CX1 is finally here

The Miele turbo brush is fine for most area rugs in the USA as well. Some are dense acrylic or wool, but the expensive Persian rugs or inexpensive nylon rugs by Milliken mills it is gentler on than an electric beater brush.

"need to be changed to comply"? Perhaps not. As the UK is exiting the EU, you don't have to comply.

Yeah, I suggested checking his filters and air paths in a previous comment. I've worked with vacuum lines on cars a lot. They can crack and cause vacuum leaks, a rough or high idle speed, a check engine light that won't stay out, etc. I don't play mechanic on tv either, but there are some...

    Miele S548 Auto mode

Brett, I thinks that's a good idea to have a Miele service dealer check it out. I doubt there is much in common with the electronics of an older Hoover Dimension 1000. It didn't have an automatic suction control, just a variable speed switch. The way these work, is that when a reduction in...

    Miele S548 Auto mode

Gregg, a company named Leffoo makes those pressure sensors. I try. I'm not perfect. It seems you get a rise out of me though. Not very noble now is it? Did your ancestors make Binoculars? Oh, sorry, that's Bushnell. I also use word association to remember names. I blocked your posts the very...

Blake, does it change speeds when using the manual speed selectors? if so, I'd leave it alone. Even if it only runs on high all the time.

Blake, just be glad it still runs at all. What does it do when you cover the hose end with your hand? If it slows down then speeds up, that's how it is supposed to work. This is designed to save electricity. If part of one of the circuit boards is bad, or a pressure transducer, it...

I have never seen such a terrible "Repair" on a Kirby

get out that trumpet! LOL. .1. Hey Jim, one day at band camp! Like warm apple pie.

    Panasonic ending vacuum manufacturing?

Yes, I agree Bill. Scott & Fetzer never left Cleveland. Neither did Vita-Mix. That says something about commitment to quality. Can't means won't. Let the others brag about coming back now. They talk a good show.

AB Electrolux Sells Eureka Division to Chinese Company

Research and development usually precludes manufacturing, but not always in the same locale. Empty space does cost money if has to be climate controlled, and taxes paid on it, but sometimes, that expense is a tax deduction. Companies establish a real estate arm that is a separate entity and...

AB Electrolux Sells Eureka Division to Chinese Company

Anyone familiar with the "crimes against humanity" card game? They have a post 2016 election bug out kit bag available. It's hilarious. It has a gas mask, a locket for loved ones photos who may not survive, an envelope containing various foreign currency, Canadian, British, Euro's, a genuine...
