Fein dust extractor: source for foam filter / soundproofing material?

You can use a foam window air conditioner filter found at any good hardware store. Double the thickness if you need to by cutting two identical pieces and stacking them.

    "rainbow hose" is cool too.

    Budd Central Vacuums

The nice thing about a central vac is that the hose is the thinnest intake. All the lines in the walls to the power unit are larger in diameter so clogging is rare. The best thing I put in my house besides better insulation. No bags, just empty the dust bin every couple months and brush off...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

We know the Ultra One is not an Aerus product, nOxXy said it was good quality. It may even be assembled in the same plant as European Lux's, which by pictures I've seen are identical to the current Aerus. Seems the Guardian is gone?

    AB Electrolux, Lux International Vid

I've not ever saw an E-Lux Ultra One for sale in any vacuum shop. Plenty of Sebos, and Mieles.

Upright Electrolux models better than the cheap cleaners from Walmart

Now who couldn't tell that's a Rainbow that Ray Barone bought? A carpet that is one to two years old will make that water dirty every time you vacuum unless it is steam cleaned, and then only not for a few times after.

    My New Aerus Vacuums

Oh, as for the metal Lux's being back, that's a skrim of brushed aluminum over the plastic body.

    My New Aerus Vacuums

The Aerus Bristol Virginia plant closed this year, so who knows where the new Lux is made. Distribution is out of El Paso Texas. All of the AB E-Lux vacuum cleaner plants in Sweden, the UK, Germany, and France are gone. Their is one in Hungary. Some parts are made there, and some imported...

Going to have to declare a loss.

A loss no less, but not as severe as going bankrupt 4 times on real estate and casino ventures, stressing the economy by making others lose money, and needing to be rescued by the tax infrastructure.

    Kirby EU Energy ratings?

Could be why Alex! The TTI products are all form China now. Perhaps the motors used in Kirby's can be fitted with a simpler speed limiter because they are very durable and will not fail when their windings are running warmer when connected to a resistance rheostat. Slower speed, less current...

    My New Aerus Vacuums

In days of old when we were bold, we'd not have installed a circuit board in a vacuum that failed. It's a nuisance. I realize it regulates the pressure transducers and the motor speed to save power, but seriously? If I spend so much for a machine to clean the house with? Warranted or not...

    AB Electrolux, Lux International Vid

I've seen it. They made so many, that some weren't even in the video. Hard to believe? No presentation of the millenial "Oxygen" range, the final series made in Vastervik Sweden before production moved to Hungary. While not a "LUX" premium line, many were made, and exported to the UK, and USA...

New "EU" vacuums have less suction than 30 year old vacuum!

Yes, the USA had to follow Japan into world class quality. However, I remember when a Toyota Corolla also rusted out in a few years, and many said never buy one in the early 70's. I had a 1984 Nissan Sentra that didn't like to restart after the engine had warmed up. Just the opposite of...

    Kirby EU Energy ratings?

You kow what they say; "Cleveland rocks!" That's where Kirby's are made, Vita-Mix, and where Healthmor is, the Filter Queen parent company. Also where the Rock and Roll hall of fame is. No longer the mistake on the lake, it's remake on the lake or the north coast. It is also where the TTI...

Help with Kenmore ID and comparison with newer Miele

Panasonic has been making Kenmore vacuums since the 80's. I believe they purchased the company from Whirlpool that made them prior. Service Merchandise sold Whirlpool branded vacuums in the 80's also made by this Panasonic company.

    New Carpet Cleaner

Hoovers website shows 2 or 3 spin scrub models with different numbers than Home Depots, and one of theirs says discontinued. At least one of them has 3 speeds, and one has the powered stair tool. As that is air driven, you may be able to buy it separately. Prices were listed from $105.99 to...

How long does it run on a charge? The older Dyson only ran 15 minutes. Our daughter sent it right back.

    New Carpet Cleaner

I'd get the Hoover spin scrub. Maybe not the latest model, I don't know how well made they are. The older ones were made very well, and last a long time. Better than any Bissel or Dirt Devil for sure. Yes, they cost more, because they are made better. I know someone who owns rental property...
